THe media is choosing to focus on Paula Deen's use of the N-word to move the story but she's being accused of wayyyy more harmful stuff than that weak ass story she told of using the N-Word in 1986. In 2012 she ewas speaking at an event and she called up a black man and told him he was as black as the back board; don't stand in front of the black board or we won't see you. The Entire room started laughing. That was in 2012. Really?! :shame:

I saw that video and was shaking my head. Almost like he was her slave. She has a slave owner mentality. I know it had to be awkward when Oprah and Gale came to her house as guest.

I don't recall anyone on here saying that they were accepting of Paula Dean using the N word or any of her off color racist jokes. I most certainly don't. However, I do think it's a bit hypocritical that there are different rules for different races. It goes all ways, some where the majority gets away with certain things, and some ways where the minority gets away with certain things. That's all I'm saying. Trust me, if one of my non-black friends uses the N word in reference to me, they will get checked, and promptly, LOL!! There are all sorts of double standards, between different races, between males and females, in corporate America, etc. I never said if I thought they were right or wrong. All I said was that it's a double standard. As an example, I've dealt with a lot of people in the past from LSU that had me wanting to fight them for some of things they said, however when I worked at SU for 6 years, I heard things that were said that were just as bad, so it goes both ways, maybe not equally, but it does go both ways. As another example, when you have one race of people say something about a different race of people, all kinds of accusations get tossed around about them being races, even if people of that race are saying the exact same thing about their own race. If a non-black person would've started this thread, Why is it so hard to collect money from black people?, or if a non-black celebrity would say something like that on TV, some people would accuse them of being racist, even though they are saying nothing different than people in that race are saying about themselves.

This is true about the media (unfortunately). They (especially CNN) are only showing the parts they want viewers to see.

In the very same video where she referred to the black man you speak of, she said of him that he was her "brother from another father" and gave him a hug and a kiss. If people are going to judge, they need to know the whole story...not just part of it.

Every human being on earth has said something derogatory, called someone they love, look like, associate with, relatives, friends, enemies or whatever a name, out of their name, joked and many other things in their life time. So I guess yall apologized to all those folks too huh? You folks just need to be honest and admit you are passive when folks who don’t look like you do wrong and crucify those who look like you.

That in fact did happen. I simply added that the news networks did not bother to show what happen after that. She stated that he was her brother from another father. That is a FACT. They embraced each other and she gave him a kiss. That too is a fact.

Now, if you want to ignore those facts so be it.

The Supreme Court struck down a part of the Voting rights act, fudged the line on Affirmative Action and on social media, ninjas are heated over Paula Deen. I think her getting kicked off of TV is a good thing, not because she is a racist (I could care less) but because she is promoting that fattening azz food she promotes.

I started the thread for the record.... Paula Deen has probably done more for black people than most people in this thread. she has probably hired more ******s than all of us combined.

Don't get the argument twisted just because you don't like the FACTS that have been presented. I'm not trying defend or reject Paula Deen. I'm just not shallow enough to pass judgement on others just because it's easy for others to do so.
