Alcorn State to the West...

I still say that it should have been Valley to make the move to the West simply for the purpose of aligning with UAPB. Alcorn and JSU should stay together.
It’s unbelievable! Valley and UAPB have been trading punches throughout the years. How on earth to do separate the two biggest HBCU’s in a state from a divisional rivalry? I can’t believe the conference isn’t in an uproar! This was a stupid decision! This is the SWAC! The biggest HBCU Conference. Hours have nothing to do with tradition! You don’t separate in-state rivals that are in the same division.

But its an easy drive Valley to SU. Straight down 61. 4 Lane all the way

This is why Alcorn is going to the West (no trips over 400 miles):

Alcorn:

TxSU - 355 miles
PV - 374 miles
UAPB - 212 miles
SU - 109 miles
Grambling - 152 miles

Valley:

Grambling - 193 miles
SU - 255 miles
UAPB - 148 miles
PV - 516 miles
Texas Southern - 495 miles

Well, well, well....

The wild WEST just got a bit more “WILD”!

Welcome to the “WILD KINGDOM” Alcorn6!

The ACC put Miami and Florida State in different divisions, along with Duke/UNC in one and Wake/NC State in the other

So, on a different note. With this transaction, what does this do to TxSo? Where do they fit in with all this? Are they continuing to stay in that orange empty stadium? Does su remain bride maids or does this make them bride maids to the bride maids? Does Valley rise from the bottom or do they stay below? All these unanswered questions.......

Well let me just say this .... A certain baby blue and yellow fan base need to stop being all up in JSU house and pay attention... Odums has been able to hide his shortcomings behind 7-5 above average records in a (top heavy) west with uapb and pv on the come up but not there yet, and eking by Grambling to get to a championship and lose... to the same team that’s coming to your division.. Odums better pick it up over there or the coaching jokes on JSU will be turned into the coaching search over at SU. 7-5 wont be good enough. 7-5 could turn to 5-7 real quick but don’t tell SU folks this... trying to tell em, but they head still in JSU kitchen. All fun and games until the rabbit got the gun.

Even if you can ensure that they can play each year?

One more unnswered question: Does JSU continue on its recent line of projectory and remain irrelavant?

That's the point that most that are against Alcorm coming to the West keep neglecting. The commissioner has stated that whoever moved would still get to play the other two as permanent rivals so all of this "breaking up in state rivalries"/"Valley and UAPB could have forged a rivalry" talk is moot. UAPB is solidified as our #3 but they are a distant 3rd. They bring far more than anyone else in the SWAC to Itta Bena (outside of Alcorn and JSU) but they are not JSU and Alcorn (again my biggest gripe with them is that they don't bring their band to Itta Bena yet we have taken ours to Pine Bluff the last three times we've played em there). Trying to force a rivalry by taking away our biggest money makers with a move to the West and no permanent rivals is asinine. Duer Sharp might have done it but a commish born and raised in MS understands what the MS SWAC schools mean to one another

@Blacknbengal Worm's contract is up in 2021 — the fall of 2021— with an option year for 2022 (I think it's Southern's option). Regardless of conference realignment ... things were getting tight on Worm.

I'm pulling for Odums. I see he definitely doesn't have a vote of confidence from the competition.....LOL

That question was answered when Hendricks was fired/let go. Now with Big Worm still stealing money from su and the fish fry ladies of Mumford; the question should be "Will su take the place of PV or TxSo while they move up in standing?"

Nah they gone keep a QB that can’t throw down field and swear up and down he can run them too a ship.... 2 year championship hangover...hmmm I’ve seen this movie before..
