Y'all keep throwing this around that SU is the only school that is under 50% subsidized. But when you look closely at your numbers, SU receives more subsidies than we do. A little over a $1M more than JSU does.

But per USA Today, SU's non-subsidized revenue out generated jSU's non-subsidized revenue by $2,008,516 in 2013-14.

SU'S NON-SUBSIDIZED REVENUE IN 2013-14
Ticket Sales - $1,958,960
Contributions - $58,656
Rights/Licensing - $2,244,568
TOTAL - $4,262,184

jSU'S NON-SUBSIDIZED REVENUE IN 2013-14
Ticket Sales - $1,699,062
Contributions - $0
Rights/Licensing - $554,606
TOTAL - $2,253,668

The difference in the two schools non-subsidized revenue = $4,262,184 - $2,253,668 = $2,008,516

Veterans Memorial Stadium is better than anything Mumford will ever see when it comes to upgrades.

That's great. Neither of those numbers look good. But it does not refute the fact that you receive more subsidies.

Clarksdale_Wildcat,

Here's another way you can calculate the non-subsidized revenue per the USA Today's NCAA Finances data:

Revenue - Subsidized Revenue = Non-Subsidized Revenue

SU Non-Subsidized Revenue = $10,153,053 - $5,071,085 = $5,081,968

jSU Non-Subsidized Revenue = $7,217,246 - $4,008,650 = $3,208,596

You are right, my numbers were off since I forgot to include the 'OTHER' category on the end, but SU's non-subsidized revenue still out generated jSU non-subsidized revenue by $1,873,372.

The difference in the two schools non-subsidized revenue = $5,081,968 - $3,208,596 = $1,873,372

Correction:

Thanks man!!!! It's always good to go back and check your numbers.

...and? What those numbers mean? Nothing.

LOL @ y'all with these budgets. Y'all acting like these schools -- who have to answer to the federal government -- just fudge up the numbers constantly.

So why not use the figures the schools report to the feds as a guide post for your arguments.

Dude the numbers are MADE UP and NON-REGULATED! ...Also, is it good to have a large budget? What if school Xs budget is bigger than school Y's budget simply because School X has more expenses. Do you think they WANT more expenses? Since schools/states are governed differently, these numbers mean nothing. MAYBE comparing JSU, Alcorn and Valley mean something or MAYBE comparing TxSo vs PV means something but comparing SU to Alabama State is pointless and it's pure comedy to see Jag89 keep trying his best to use them.

Those numbers are bogus. Do you truly believe that not a single dollar was donated to Jackson? Come on people.

Do you really believe the numbers jSU folks posted on here without providing any source of where those numbers came from???

Their lack of evidence for their numbers doesn't make these numbers any more factual.

And exactly who started this thread??? I've asked the question more than once exactly where did they get their numbers from and I still haven't gotten a reply. For whatever reasons, maybe you like to believe the mess they pull out of their rectum.

I don't think JSU posted anything. It was
Yep. Any SWAC school that does it (that has a realistic shot at it) would be the FBS version of TnSU.

For example, if SU did it, I can't see them eliminating the BC so most like JSU and/or Alcorn would rotate off the schedule.

SU - Right now the best fan base but needs to bump up that enrollment/athletic budget
ASU - Has the facilities and the budget as a bottom tier FBS Sun belt school. Internal issues have to be fixed
TxSU - In the H-town market. Same category as ASU as far as budget but needs more fan base interest
PV - Same as TxSU. Budget would need a bump but they are getting the stadium

Everyone else (maybe outside of AAMU sicne they are a half mil behind PV) is pipe dreaming at this point

SWAC Athletic Budgets (2014)
Alabama A&M: $7.6 million
Alabama State: $11.7 million
Alcorn State: $6.3 million
Arkansas-Pine Bluff: $6.5 million
Grambling State: $7.1 million
Jackson State: $6.0 million
Mississippi Valley State: $4.4 million
Prairie View A&M: $8.1 million
Southern: $8.6 million
Texas Southern: $10.2 million

This is the beginning of the Madnesss. No one from JSU. LOL
