Re: Vick reportedly reaches plea agreement

Man it's this type of thinking that holds black people up. "We're not making dope in our neighborhoods, the white man brings it in......We don't make guns in our community the white man brings it in.........Who gives a phugg????

Just because we're not at the root of something, doesn't make it right. So it was a white man that told Vick to buy the house, buy the dogs, buy the equipment to train the dogs, bet on dogs, kill the dogs?????? Get off that schit, in the big picture is Michael Vick the ringleadeer? No....But in HIS circle of friends he is, and in this case he is. Hell, let's blame the white man for making him a millionaire, and while we're at it, blame the white man for making Michael Vick so stupid, and blame the white man for picking Vick's ratting arse friends for him, cuz obviously he can't think for himself, the white man is at the root of his thought process.

NICE

Dnice, ain't nobody blaming the white man for everything evil in society, but it does seem that you and people like kendrick are giving them a "free pass". All this in spite of the blatant injustices you see with your own eyes on a daily basis, whether it's at your job, in your city, on a national level and on an international level.

This Vick case is being driven first and foremost by espn, and espn is driving public opinion, and public opinion is driving the prosecutors.
With all due respect, this case has NOTHING on our soldiers being sent back to this country in body bags, yet this case trumps those headlines. It's both pathetic and laughable at the same time.

When espn quits showing deer or elk being shot in the head as a "sport" while at the same time glamourizing gambling, then I'll begin to believe that they actually care for animals.

Re: Vick reportedly reaches plea agreement

I still don't think he personally killed any dogs. He was the money behind it, and the other dudes ran the show.

Jay, I'm not giving nobody a free pass pottna, I'm just calling it like I see it. Is ESPN a driving force behind this? Yes, but it's the same ESPN that's been showing Michael Vick highlights since he was in college, helping him acquire the fame that he's recieved, and nobody was complaining when they kept showing his highlights over, and over again. The same media that will hype you up when you're good, is the same media that will bring you down when you're wrong.

In this instance Michael Vick is clearly wrong, and ESPN, CNN, Fox Sports, nor anybody else put Vick in this situation, he did. You gotta take the good with the bad bruh.

So if what I said is percieved as giving somebody a pass, then so be it, I stand by what I said, and my opinion won't change. What Vick did is wrong, and I'm not giving him a pass because he's black, and famous. If he's innocent, he should stand trial, and make the government prove their case. It may seem like the deck is stacked against him, but he still has a right to fight his case. If he loses so be it, but at least he can maintain his innocence. He should've thought about his life, and career, before getting himself mixed up in something illegal.

NICE

It's not about him being convicted if he did the crime, it's about the over-exaggeration and over-hyping of what he did that is so disturbing.
The question is why is espn doing this?
Why are they encouraging their reporters to continue to over-hype a somewhat minor crime in the overall scheme of things?

First it was Bonds, then Kobe, now it's Vick. Seems like Black players cases are blown way out of proportion compared to Whites. That's not justice. There's a reason for that.

What's going on with the NBA referees (most just happen to be White), is FAR more important, yet that major crime is being trumped by a man who had dogs fighting? Go figure.

My point is not that Vick shouldn't be convicted if found guilty.
My point is that justice and fairness are weighed differently when it comes to race, plain and simple.

Now you're one of the first people to pull the "were you there???" card when someone assumes a black athlete or star did something wrong. Now, you here the guys that were in the thick of it say Vick killed dogs, you don't wanna believe folk that were right there. Why is that???

Did they say he was there or was it that he authorized it? I only read where they said he authorized it.

Either way...criminals lie to get less time. Nino Brown send help.

First of all Would you believe a Snitch Ni99a?

Second of all read my first of all.

A snitch ni99a will say anything to get themselves out of hot or hotter water.
So what ever them dudes (Vicks "friends") says is out the window with me from here out.

Depending on their criminal history (if they have one), it shouldn't be that difficult for the defense lawyers to discredit them UNLESS Vick had something in writing, on video or audio evidence which would incriminate him.

Like it was said, people will say or do most anything to stay out of jail or to get a lesser sentence.

Thanks.

man just knowing some of the stuff I was asked to do back in the day because I had a clean record... I am always skeptical when someone with priors takes a deal. :noidea:

I guess we'll see what Vick admits to in his plea deal.

Re: Vick reportedly reaches plea agreement

Again, would you believe anything a snitch ni99a tells you????

Jay, trust me bruh, I know first hand how stories involving blacks & whites are spun(if that's a word) differently, and I'm not disputing that at all, and will never dispute it. My thing is, why is it so surprising, when we know how the system works? But at the same time, I think stories get more attention the bigger the star no matter what color they are.

For instance, Tank Johnson's jail sentence didn't get blown up like this Vick situation, and dude went to jail for having like 40 guns in the trunk of his car, and his best friend got killed in his presence. Bam Morris went to jail for not being caught once with like a 100lbs of weed in his trunk, but twice, and neither one of them got blown up, because their celebrity isn't/wasn't that big. The same thing for Leonard Little, now let Marshall Faulk had been the person that killed that lady, while being drunk, and the story would've been huge.

In the meantime, we have a war going on, but yet CNN, & Fox News two major news outlets, dedicated dayum near 2 weeks of non-stop coverage of Paris Hilton going to jail, and being released. I mean having people camped out at her house, the courthouse, the jail, at her friends house. Just plain stupidy, but everytime you turned on thier channels for those 2 weeks, it was on as if it were something major.

Again, I know how unfairly blacks in general, not just the entertainment, and sports world are treated by the media, but when you're in the limelight like Vick, and a few others are, it comes with the territory. Not saying that it's right, but it is what it is. These athlete's have to realize that everytime they're smiling for the ESPN camera's giving interviews, joking with Stuart Scott, Chris Berman, the PTI guys, and making commercials for them, that, that same ESPN will fry their arse's the minute they do something wrong. They'll build them up, and tear them down just as fast.

NICE

Re: Vick reportedly reaches plea agreement

His boys turned on him. They like F@ck Dat Sh@t!!!!!!!! Mike, you on yourt own.

NT they probably told those dudes they would have to serve the maximum time. 20 years. Even if Vick had given them all a million and asked them to take the fall, who wants to trade 20 years for a million dollars. Those dudes took the plea so they can get out of jail quick.

There is no loyalty and honor amonst theives.

Re: Vick reportedly reaches plea agreement

I would believe a "snitch ni99a" if the person snitched on is one is his closest partners, who has all the money, footing all the bills and routinely is there with the "snitch ni99a".

Let's be real here. Do any of you remotely believe Vick didn't do any of this stuff??? We got the millionaire, who buys the house, provides the equipment and funding to run the operation. Been boys with these guys for the longest. Y'all think for one second Vick wasn't right there on many occasions doing the exact same thing his boys were doing???

And as for discrediting them, y'all watch too much TV. This is the real world. What happened in this case happens in a whole lotta cases. Cops/prosecutors put heat on participants, and somebody agrees to tell. Do you actually expect the guys running a top notch illegal dogfigting operation to be squeaky clean. Where y'all from??? Mayberry??? If it were one guy, testifying against the 3 others, you might have a point. But it's the other 3 against Vick. Game. Set. Match. PLEA!!!

I think that Vick was funding the whole thing and gambling but I don't think he was getting his hands dirty with the dogs.

Re: Vick reportedly reaches plea agreement

I have a question for some of you.

What year is on the allegations sheet that hit the web a month or so ago?

IMO, the first law of nature is more appropriate in this situation.

Did "we" expect those guys to take the fall for Vick? If so, why?

Re: Vick reportedly reaches plea agreement

Michael Vick "furked" up...plain and simple, people!!

There is no CONSPIRACY against him by ESPN, CNN, The Weather Channel or any other network. With all the damned money he has, he chose to invest in some ILLEGAL schit, and unfortunately for him, the hoodrat cousins, homeboys, etc. (who had NOTHING to lose) nor a pot to pizz in, or a window to throw it out of, turned on his arse when the jig was up and the ring was uncovered!

What I hope will come out of this situation for high profile BLACK professional athletes in the future, is that while some of them have been placed on a pedestal, there is nothing that says you can't have your azz knocked off that same pedestal if you break the law, and whether or not you are an animal lover, dogfighting is AGAINST THE LAW!!

I guess his homeboys forgot the street code of "stop snitchin" when the cops came a knockin'!! Alot more of them need to leave that street schit alone! If Mike hadn't been trying to maintain his "street cred," he might not be looking at his professional career going down the toilet as I type.

:smh:

Re: Vick reportedly reaches plea agreement

Once again people are making these lame excuses for why Vick is facing a year or more in prison for dogfighting.

It's not ESPN's fault.

It's not "the white man's" fault.

It's not Mary Winkler's fault, Rush Limbaugh's or the feds getting revenge for the O.J. verdict.

It's Mike Vick's fault. Even if he never even stroked a dog, he should have never been in a situation where he could face jail time.

You can say all the things about how his friends are selling him out and how the feds are making a big splash by going after Vick and how white people in general want to see another successful black man take the fall.

All those assumptions would have never been brought to the forefront if Mike Vick would have never associated himself with anyone involved in an illegal dogfighting ring.

The sad part is that four black men are going to jail over hurting a fighting dogs. That's worse than what any white person might think or say or believe about us in general.
