Southern's "Home Game" in Jackson/They talking every year now.

Yep....there they go lying again

Now that is a interesting statement.:smug:, considering this statement below.

I can appreciate your outlook and your opinion...but this attitude does not help your school.

Just do like me when JSU plays in Bham. GR drives from Jackson to Meridian, GR stops in Meridian, GR gets gas, food, piss, he puts some gas in a can. GR continues to drive to Bham. After the game is over, GR turns right around and heads back to Jackson. My car is hard on gas, so when GR gets to Eutaw Al, he does not stop for gas. He pulls over, gets out that gas can and fills up again. The state of Alabama does not get one red cent of mine....NO NOT ONE.

GR hates everything about Bham and believes the game should be moved to Jackson. I dont even pay to park. I park about 5 blocks from the stadium.
GR would rather drink muddy water and sleep in a hollow log than give Alabama ONE RED CENT. so GR kinda knows where you are coming from....sorta.

"coughing":rolleyes:

I stopped reading, right there. :|

I know you're kidding about NTx as fickle as these ppl are. lol Try it and watch what happens. :| I think UAPB and sTu can explain it a little bit better for you, if you'd like. If you're banking that Grambling and PVAMU alums and constituents would support such a game, you're smoking some pretty good wacky weed. lol The thought process behind the d/fw black college alliance whatchamacallit is a straight up farce. We don't support like that around here. lol :D

Dallas lol. Please.

JSU and SU alums aren't fickle about our schools. Ole and young show up when our school is in the area. I'm not going to get into comparisons with others. I'm solely speaking of SU and JSU.

Think of TxSU's fan base in Houston alone. Though they have some very notiable alums in the area, they do not have an alumni base as SU, JSU and PV have in this area. UAPB is supportive, but they don't come close to the alumni base of the 3 schools that I just named in this area. Now, to put it during the Bayou Classic Weekend kills it even more. That Southern crowd goes to the Bayou Classic and those that don't typically at least go back to LA to spend time with family and friends. I can't even explain to those who do not understand the DFW Promotional atmosphere all of the other factors that are in play. But, the key to making something like this work in any city, is to have the fan base. The talk of the fan base alone draws others with them.

But again, this isn't a subject about playing in Dallas. This is about playing in Jackson.

Peace...

Not really JR. :)

ut-austin/OU are renting Jerry's world for 100$. :) Double-ditto for Texas Tech/texas a&m. 100$. :) However lol, Jerry keeps 100% of the parking (upwards of 40$ per vehicle) and 100% of the concessions AND a certain % (not known lol) of the actual ticket sales. :)

yep. That's how Jerry gets his money; they get in cheap; it gives Jerry's World more publicity; it get's those schools some great exposure because I believe every game is televised; the school are being paid their money from TV contracts and other corporate sponsored contracts.

If that was our discussion, :topic:, that would be the angle SU and JSU could work and I wouldn't be surprise if we couldn't get it on TV.

It is a non-subject. We are traveling to Houston, Mobil and Jackson over the next few years. Outside of something for Labor Day, it isn't likely another road game will be added outside of the normal SWAC road scheduling.

Peace...

The DFW Jacksonians and Southernites even tried to get the two schools to come to Dallas when they were talkikng about New Orleans. If we had pulled that off one or two times, we'd have prime rights to get into Jerry's World for a year or two, which would open the door for a SWAC Championship there.

But, remember, the plan is to expand volume recruiting in MS, so we can start a major turnaround and expansion with our fellow boot state.

Peace...

never, jerry's world too expensive and they dont want us in arlington. maybe cotton bowl but dallas too far west!!

They are signed to the Cotton Bowl thru 2015

I believe that they will pull out after they see how Jerry handles the Super Bowl, All-Star Game and the NCAA Tournament. Too many big money alums, especially TX, in this area and they are cool with Jerry.

But, they may wait if they really love the State Fair Classic environment. They may feel Jerry World would take away from their fanatic atmosphere. The city is paying both schools a ton of money. So, they may hang on to them. But, look for the Big 12 Championship to find its way to Jerry's World in Arlington.

I will not be surprised to see various Big 12 schools starting to book a game there (A&M, OSU, TX Tech, Nebraska, etc...) to get that exposure and to dip into the TX recruiting.

Peace...

Just because they are selective, doesn't mean they don't want JSU vs SU. For example, I bet they continue to invite GSU to do a halftime during the season.

One size does not fit all in every city and every stadium.

Peace...

COMMON SENSE!

People don't change until you fugg with their money or their family.

If 15,000 people showed up for this game, it would force the leadership to think outside the box or at the least, re-think their plans @home.

but 79

they are thinking outside the box. he is doing what is right for the school. you guys should give tc a chance. if this thing works out it could help out the bottom line

pbla

u have to understand how sorry the city of bham is. bham is so sorry that they messed up the FIRST 48. do you know how sad you have to be to mess up the first 48?
