FAMU 1999 made it to the Semis right?
I thought that was 1997. A&T went to the playoffs from the MEAC in 1999 as champ I believe.
They both made it... A&T lost to YSU in the 2nd round and FAMU lost in the Semis.
Not to start debating with the Gram folks, but IMO, that Gram 01 team was soooooo overrated.I think the Grambling 2001 team was better than Gram's 2005 team.
That 01 GSU team was much more physical on both sides of the ball.

Either that, or the ASU 01 team was sooooooo underrated. We played 'em twice. Scored 76 points.
That was our championship (and it should have been ours in a blowout game in the SCG, but the 2nd worst call I've ever seen turn the tide in that game)
It's no way you can leave Tuskegee off of that list. It's remarkable the job Comegy did over at Skee-gee.

Hard to rate teams you never saw play. Like that '99 A&T team. Didn't see them play, but they won the MEAC, beat FAMU and Tenn. State (without Leon Murray in 1st round of playoffs) that year, so they had to be good. It's no way you can leave Tuskegee off of that list. It's remarkable the job Comegy did over at Skee-gee.
My list would look similar to most that have been posted, but my omission would be JSU '99. JSU's '96 squad was MUCH more solid than that '99 squad. (It was coached.) A half-hearted playoff performance really put a damper on what was a dominating regular season performance.
My addition to those lists would be SU '95. Quietly, that may have been Pete's best team, with E. Randall and a beastly M. Williams who couldn't seem to stay on the field during his short career.
Bruh, you going back too far. I am sure most of us wanted to list those teams but he said last 10 years which would be 1997-2006.
By the end of '97, JSU was playing like a top 5 team. We were right on the brink. I'd give anything to look like that again. :smh: :bawling:
