I can't believe this but I'm actually agreeing with JayRob.....
The US Dept of Education is currently investigating both schools on Clery Act violations. Unlike the Freeh report, the FEDS do have subpoena power. Also, SACS is not the accrediting board for Penn State. There are six regional accrediting bodies for higher education/secondary education in the US.
Once again, if the authorities find fraud at Penn State (like if Sandusky had a sex-for-scholarship deal going), then accreditation folks will come in because that also includes financial aid.
The FAMU band did not bring SACS on FAMU, per se. It was their improper financial aid practices with the band that brought SACS on FAMU.
I understand what you're saying. I disagree though. Paterno was Penn State football. And I'm sure he wanted to keep the so-called sterling image intact. His defensive coordinator committing horrendous acts against kids would be a stain on Penn State. A stain on him. So, he'll just sweep it under the rug. He got the power. And he wants to keep that power intact. He's Joe Pa. A living legend. He can just say Sandusky "retired" and then go on being Saint Joe Pa. As if nothing ever happened. And sadly, that's exactly what he did. And this stuff went on for YEARS afterward.Obviously something of that nature is a scandal, but the fallout from taking care of it immediately in 1998 or some other earlier year, with a far different media cycle, versus allowing to continue unchecked for another decade is night and day. The blame gets placed directly on the shoulders of Sandusky, Paterno gets the hero treatment, and everybody moves on to something else in a week.
Also remember....
Joe Paterno handled all disciplinary issues with the football program's athletes so who's to say rape(s), drugs(s), etc... were not covered up?
So are you folks saying the football players did not know either? Wow, yall really only think about running and jumping huh? :shame:
Inherent racism is alive and very much in play...I've never seen as many folks who hadn't attended but got a shirt from a cousin's, girlfriend's, brother's son PWC that have folks having their backs so fiercely. YET there was some sad assed supreme crabs in a barrel clowning going on about the latest APR penalties at our fellow institutions...and they actually ATTENDED these schools? Y'all don't see the obvious mismatch in mindsets here?
Why ask that. No you don't because you don't WANT TO.

What wins was accrued because of this, they play the game on the field and none of this gave the team a advantage.

:smh::smh:
Actually Sara Gamin, the great young reporter from the Harrisburg-Patriot News (P.A) a Penn State grad, was covering this Sandusky stuff long before the national media picked up on it.
As far as the whole idea about the cover up taking place in part so that Joe Paterno could win X number of games is far-fetched, considering school administrators requested the coach resign years ago, in which he refused.
So, Penn State had been eying the day when Joe would no longer be the head coach at the school.
No one can't be that damn naive. I hope not but.....
I do agree with JR. Perhaps some politicians, federal officials or big time alumnus had something to do with preventing the administration from reporting Sandusky to the authorities. One top of that, they had to be involved with the former Centre County DA that didn't continue with the 1998 investigation and ended up being missing in 2005. It was reported that they found the DA's hard drive from a laptop in the Susquehanna River. It was severely damaged by the water, they couldn't read the information off of it. That smells like a serious cover up...
Maybe they were but they were not pulling any triggers. Even when this story broke, Joe didn't wanna resign. I don't think it's far-fetched at all to believe that Joe and Penn State wanted that record more than anything else.
I agree that this issue needs to be investigated further...
The former president VP, AD are hiding something even bigger....
and people think kids are born gay lol....come on lol here is an example of Sandusky turning little boys out for his pleasure and lord knows who else...It has always been my belief that older gay men introduce boys to their gay lifestyle through manipulation and other tactics like this
Penn State aint the only place where this sick shit is going on ..trust and believe...these sick bastards just got caught..
I used to be a Joe Pa fan but now I can't say I am....I'm disappointed

I totally agree. If they keep shaking the tree, then something else will fall out. If Sandusky talks, the doors could get blown off. He better got Nicky Barnes and get some witness protection.
The "death peanalty" would only punish those kids and coachs on the field that had nothing to do with this. The people at the high levels would still be walking around rich, working in some other high end job somewhere.
PUNISH THE PROGRAM...........OK.
No bowls, whatever. But the players didn't do anything. They were just as in the dark as the other students on campus. The higher ups and the board need to be collectively fired and arrested where necessary.

So EVERY gay boy and girl was molested? Hahahahahaha!!!
