Examples of music: Isleys (my favorite), Musiq, Luther (Big one), Teddy, and even Freddy...LOL.

Examples of movies: Inkwell, Love Jones, John Q, or Saving Isiah.

JSTUS, first of all, have a 3-course meal. A salad, entree (shrimp/crawfish etouffee with rolls), and dessert (homemade apple, peach, or pecan pie or red velvet cake). Light some candles and play some jazz.

After dinner, turn on the DVD and watch "I am Sam". :D

aaaaaaaw hell no Trina, "I am Sam" is too sad....I was like :bawling: when I watched that.

Wanda, if a man can watch "I am Sam" and it actually touches him, he's cool.

She shouldn't watch any love movies...no need in getting anyone "excited". ;)

I AM NOT TRYING TO CAUSE EXCITEMENT. Warndalyn, let me add the storyline. Say that this is someone that has been trying to get an invite for like a year or so and you have been so busy(not that you were not interested in him) that you hadn't had a chance to entertain them. So, finally you say ok, I am going to make time and set it out and he will see it was worth the wait. That's why I say there needs to be the WOW!;)

JSTUS anything you do for him that involve some thought and time, if the brotha is decent, he should be impressed. He is probally already "WOWD" just by you showing interest in him.You got to think from a man's point of view and not a woman's point of view. You are trying to WOW him by a woman's standard. What really holds a man's attention is by being MYSTERIOUS AS A MOFO AND FEMININE AS MOFO.

OK, I posted this before.

Ok, You are sure no funny business is going on??? :)

and As long as you are not trying to look Hoochie.

Cook this.
6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1/4 cup butter
1 (.7 ounce) package dry Italian-style salad dressing mix
1/2 cup white wine
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed golden mushroom soup
4 ounces cream cheese with chives
1 pound angel hair pasta

Directions
1 Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
2 In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Stir in the package of dressing mix. Blend in wine and golden mushroom soup. Mix in cream cheese, and stir until smooth. Heat through, but do not boil. Arrange chicken breasts in a single layer in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Pour sauce over.
3 Bake for 60 minutes in the preheated oven. Twenty minutes before the chicken is done, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a rolling boil. Cook pasta until al dente, about 5 minutes. Drain. Serve chicken and sauce over pasta.

This meal during a good movie will do it. For example, if this brother is intelligent, go rent Lords of the Rings or the nerd type, go rent Star Wars.

A girl that plays the Playstation should WOW him as well. Especially if you can play Madden, or NBA Live. Watch SportSCenter. Play Dominoes or something.

:)

He snickers because he knows the guy will never be him. The type of guy I'll be entertaining would love to study the bible together.

NN get off my thread before I tell on you.  ;)

Tell what? And to whom? I know not anyone on this board.

Shrimp Ettouffe, liquor free dinner wine and the 23rd Psalm would be a nice evening. Seriously though.

LOL @ some of the comments in this thread.

Some of y'all women up in hur make me wanna' fight your hubby's/boyfriends/significant others :shame: Sounds like a great evening to me!

Remember, whatever it took to land him MUST be maintained during the courtship or else he'll go to plan B, plan C, plan D, ... . Don't FRONT and pretend you're THIS way and after you hook him you turn into broomhilda!

*did I just say that? I'm finally trying to mature ~snicker~ *

A Mess!

Since you don't want to send the wrong signal, I wouldn't do candles. I would just keep it basic, but I would break out the good plates and silverware. Iced Tea would be the beverage.
I would definitely do the 3 course meal thing. Salad, pasta or green, an Alfredo Seafood pasta with broccoli and mushrooms (or the meal you know you can throw down on), baked cheese cake with strawberries! All this Just because you want to keep is clean! Then I would tarry to the tube to watch some ball or a nice action or comedy movie, to keep it on the impress tip!

*****Note this menu can be altered to fit a different mood! :D

Girl, just do your thang. Make sure the ambiance is up to par. ;) Have the house clean, you're clean, you and your home are both smelling delicious and feed his ass. It'll be worth the wait.

If you want to WOW him, go over to Maxwells Market on Corporate Blvd, buy a couple of rib eyes, some baked potatoes and a nice bottle of wine. On your way home stop at the Mall of LA and get a new pair of Ponte Pants. ;) Stop at blockbuster and get High Crimes, it's a good movie, nothing sappy and no romance to get him to excited.

You people are good for nothing....

All yall did was try to give her a menu. JSTUS is from Bunkie, LA. Cooking won't be here problem. She was trying to get some atmosphere.

If you want to impress dude and make his mouth drop. Do the things for him, that if he did for you when he invites you to his home would make your mouth drop. Basically treat him like the woman. Wine and Dine his arse. Anytime a woman has flipped the script on me, it took me weeks to get my jaw off the floor.

Cooking the dinner is easy..........Seriously, buy his arse a single rose. Just one......attach a note saying what you just said about being so busy, etc. Then sit him down to a nice dinner. Tell him to wear a suit, and you dress up as well, like it is a dinner party. Have the plates(the good plates) ready when he arrives so that you can both sit down and enjoy your meal together. You should have some jazz flowing in the background. Maybe Najee's "Love Songs". Boney James is always kool. I've got some hella Miles Davis, Coltrane, Wynton, kenny G, and George Benson compilations myself. Then after dinner you should just sit and talk, maybe watch a movie, but make sure that if you watch a movie that the movie is somthing that you both have already seen, so that you won't mind starting a discussion if something takes place in the movie. I would suggest my staples : Boomerang, Love Jones, Best Man. The point to this evening is to talk, so make sure you have something to talk about. Movies and music are great conversation starters.

Now if you really want to go over the top. Give him a small gift at the end of the date. Maybe a copy of the music you listened to that night, or the movie you watched, or maybe even a new CD of some artist that you know he likes. For example, with me, a Miles Davis CD is always a perfect gift.
