Typical SU show. It was executed well for the most part. It wasn't flawless, but definately solid. The Drill was nice. What else is expected??? The Dolls were typical. The Star Drill was typical. The End of the Road was nice, and the boys hit their notes. The Dance Routine with the MJ was nice as well ( even though I have seen that routine a few times) Empire State of Mind was DEFINATELY BLOWIN. I'm still hearing that in my head. Let's hear it for SU!!!:clap::clap:

PVAM's Dance Routine was Burlesque and a tad Vulgar, but it got a response from the crowd. Other than that the show was rather......................regular.:clap:

FAMU's sound was clean and crisp. The Drill was well executed. Rotating Diamonds into a Camera that produced a Picture of the Atlanta Skyline was nice & creative. The Concert Selection was Blowing. The Dance Routine was well executed, and The Cell Phone PIC with LOL was tight as well as the text FAMU 50555 which had over 800 hits after the Dome let out. The Tribute to Haiti was appropriate and touching, especially seeing all of the memebers in the band with a connection to Haiti.:clap::clap:

Re: Southern Tops At Honda 2010!!!

I think congratulations are in order for Southern’s band. This group is having a stellar school year beginning with its amazing performance at ULL in the fall and the NFC Championship Game this semester. Accolades are pouring in from left to right – including The 5th Quarter, The MEAC Fan Page, Marchingsport, etc. – all saying SU was clearly the best on Saturday. I think what would have made Honda better this year was to have Southern being the final band. Just saying. Their performance was top-notch – clean and well-disciplined. Once again the SWAC represented!!!:clap::clap:

SU did their thing. Best band at the Honda. I just can't get with FAMU and the marching 500.

I'm with you on that, but I do have to give props to FAMU for that "It Kills Me." That was straight beastin'! But what else can you expect when you have damn near 10,000 (exaggerating) people standing and playing on the field??!!!!!

maybe it was a had to be there moment but that arrangement of it kills me wasnt all that hyped up to be...it sounded great..but that is maybe the first famu ballad i dont care for:tdown:

Re: Southern Tops At Honda 2010!!!

Say what you wanna, but FAMU arrangements and their sound is a beast. Always has been, and always will be.

You can say that again! I watched the Jukes really close all day long and I can say for sure, they were the most disciplined band there. At certain times of the Honda, during intermissions and what not, many of the band members were dancing about and stepping to the various sounds etc. Not once did I see any of my Jukes doing that stuff. They sat patiently, waited their turn, did what the Jukes does, and returned to the stands.

Once again, I am proud to give a  to my Jukes; they made an old Juke proud and I told Mr. J just that!

Peace!

the world is tired of famu, their huge bands and beautiful ballads... gosh... southern trashed them. lol

BULLSH*T

From the clips FAMU and Southern were the best bands there but neither one got trashed...see you at the Super Bowl next week...oh wait...

Let's see if FAMU will be invited to perform at the Superbowl in Indy or New Orleans in the near future. Location, Location, Location.

I kind of feel you on that frat. I am a big fan of FAMU's ballads and their sound. But that arrangement didn't move me like the real song does. Wasn't dramatic enough. I guess I was looking for more from it. I did like those piccolos though. They sounded great.

Still big props to FAMU's band though. Their show concept was nice.

I think Noise Talka was just being funny. LOL. I see some sarcasm in his post.

As for the SB invite. Congrats to FAMU and I know they will do well. SU has done their share of SBs as well.

From those clips I have I seen and your report back. I echo that sentiment LB. That Empire State of Mind is on some other stuff. Haymer aint playing.:D

The "Emcee" of the Honda Battle of the Bands has spoken!!! Ryan Cameron, who was the emcee of the Honda, had some very high remarks for the Jukebox. This video is on AJC.com so, you may need to validate on the website. Again, this is indeed one great year for the Jukebox!!!.."swagger"!

Southern Got That Swagger!!!

Great performance Southern! Since you all played at the NFL championship game and the Saints are going to the Super Bowl, you all should have played that song you all used to end your halftime show with when Dr. Greggs was the director, the song where the Dolls danced with the Parasols, you all should have blown the sh@t out that song after Empire State of Mind.

The FAMU/Southern Debate will continue until The end of Time and probably after that. It's a matter of preference. Even as a Alumnus of The 100 I still love watching the JukeBox and watching them do what they do.
