Skip,

A more important question is...How does the bass drum pullers audition? Do they have to start off pulling wheel barrows until the are ready to strap up? Don't they know that they are modern day mules? Slavery is over Mr. Bass Drum Puller Guy! Just tell them that your back hurts and revolt against that slave mentality!

no... the question is does this cat get a scholorship. if so i got some little cousins that could use a free education. Gram can my kin folk audtion for drum puller... who should we call?

THE BATTLE IS SUPPOSE TO BE IN SOME ARENA IN DALLAS I REALL DON'T KNOW, BUT STEVE HARVEY IS HOSTING AND IT'S FRIDAY OCT. 3, 2003. THAT IS THE NIGHT BEFORE THE GAME.

I would not call it a battle but more like a Drum Clinic, where the BOX will showcase the art of playing the drums. Grambling will basically be there just for comical relief. The bad part is they really believe they have a chance, but we shall see. Hopefully with the Drumline movie out, plus the idea of Drumline II, this may spark a flame that will ignite an All-SWAC Drum Battle. Now that would be a sight to see.

From what I gather in the DFW area, GSU/PV will squar off at the smirnoff music center. If you go to ticket master.com for Dallas/Ft. Worth and select smirnoff music center, then select classic comedy show. You will see the following information.

Scheduled to appear: Steve Harvey, J Anthony Brown, DC Curry and a special appearance by the Grambling College Drum Line.
Line-up subject to change.

Although PV is not listed on the site, PV is announced on the commerical.

GOOD LUCK to both DRUM LINES!

I will be in attendance to take part in the weekend activities. No I did march in the tiger marching band. I ended my marching and playing when I left high school. I had a different agenda when I attended GSU : ). I still follow both the football team and band very closely. So you could say I am a VERY proud supporter of GSU. But I also support the SWAC as a whole. We need that.

By the way The event is schedule to take place Fri Oct 3, at 6:30

Reserve seating is priced at $27.50 - $45.00
Lawn/general admission/open seating is $25.00

It is still unclear if GSU/PV will square off before the comedy show, after the comedy show or some where in between. As soon as I know for sure I will post that information.

Thanks for the added info and remember to keep us posted. More than likely if they do battle or whatever, I will be there with the BOX though.

I see both of you fellows are from H-Town, my bestfriend jukebox 89 is now in Houston. Are you guys going to Shreveport this weekend? (skip and no sense) I know he will be there supporting the Jags. Jukebox 89 if you are reading, what's UP?

FIRST OFF, WHILE YOU TRY TO TALK ABOUT THE WAY I PLAY A DRUM, NONE OF YOU CAN'T BURN ME ANYWAY. AND HOW ABOUT WHEN THE "CAT" AS YOU SAY, IT BURNED YOU IN THE PARKING LOT IN 2000. YOU ALL TALK A LOT OF NOISE BUT YOU CAN' BACK IT UP.

GSU-MTX6000,

You must have lost your mind or got me sadly mistaken! I have never got "burned" by anybody from Grambling. You better ask any Old Head down there about me. I gave your tenor line fits every year! You must be talking about someone other than me or simply dreaming! What do you play anyway? Or are you the famous Bass Drum Puller? I have already been given props from several cats from Chocolate Thunder so basically you dont know what you are talking about. If you think I am lying ask Squirrel, he was probably the best cat yall had down there anyway and even he has to give up the props because we went head to head every year. So do some homework youngin', there's history within these battles and you are just scratching the surface. Do some research with some of the older cats down there and see if my name ring a bell. I'm not being cocky, just being real. You simply have the wrong person in mind, but it is not your fault..you're new to this! By the way, there will never be a person who uses a concert snare as a tenor that will smoke me and you can bet the house on that!

GoodFella,

Who is Krank? Is that Pine Bluff's Section? If so, I have battled a few cats from there in my day when I was still on the ax, but depending on how old you are you may or may not have been there. I am pretty sure you may have heard about it though.

so you were in drumline huh? so what, rumor is that if pv. would have accepted the deal you would have been nowhere near drumline. but as far as being burned by you, never, you are not the whole drum section, and as i remember your whole section got "burned". and if i recalled you did not go head to head with none of the bassdrummers (the thundercats) fron DA BOX. Because if you know like i know BIG PUN, the bassdrum capt. in DA BOX would have "burned" your azz. infact we will see oct 3. 2003 in D-Town. you burned somebody, that is tooooooooooo dam funny. hollar back with the facts.

oh yeah i forgot to tell you, i'm the cat that took your whole tenor section by myself in 87,88,89,90,91,92,93,and 94 so shut up. i change the tenor game for the whole swac. yep i was a career band student and loved every minute of. but i have a career now still bringing ya'll problems.

SKIP,

The bad part about that is that where you stopped at, I picked up and continued on until 97! So the way I see it, that was a decade of damage. We had the hardest one-two punch in the swac and most of the colleges and high schools out here are still playing challenges and rips we wrote years ago. Where I am from they call that Legends!
