Hell Is Breaking Loose in Dallas

Go peep out the thread I may and I marked stamps so that you can get a clear view of the whole no vote statement.

Telling folks to exercise they're power by staying home huh? Let's see...if I stay home, then the person who I'm not voting for won't get elected in the first place. Hmm...wow, that's tremendous logic there. And I guess the person who gets elected will somehow come to the people who didn't vote and shower them with whatever they didn't vote for. That makes a lot of sense.

He's a Morehouse man and he's telling folks stuff like this SMH.

I find it hard to listen to guys like this because they don't seem to realize that they need to do is study what folks have done in the past and build on it...not just spout out a bunch of rhetoric.

If you want to know the effect of "stayin' home", just look at what led up to Michael Brown being killed in Ferguson. That is REAL evidence of what happens with an apathetic population. That municipality was funding itself off those folks who were exercising their "power" by "staying home."

Instead of telling people to stay home, he should have been encouraging folks to not only vote but to run for local, state, and federal offices...unless I missed him saying that. Politicians respond to two things...numbers and $$$.

I was in downtown Dallas doing some work as all the commotion was going on and I got stuck downtown until about 2 am, it was so crazy how 1 dude wrecked that much havock. It is wild but people are angry because we know the justice system is fixed and not in a good way, those cops in Baton Rouge are going to walk as sure as I'm Black and so will the one in Minnesota smh

Yeap I said that earlier. They will more than likely lose their jobs, but not face any charges. The Minnesota cops might be a different story though. If they can prove that he told the man to pull out his ID, he will definitely face some type of charge.

Exactly, stay at home and don't vote this fall and you'll end up with this person as Mayor of Baton Rouge:

The young man actually did his complete ACTIVE term (6 years) in the reserves. He was currently during his last two year of his 8 year commitment on inactive ready reserves (IRR) status, which means he didn't have to meet with any military unit, but if need be, he could be called back to military services. It seems like he would have gotten his Honorable Discharge Certificate (DD256A or DD214) either in March or April of 2017. I would like to know what happen to him during his time in service. I'm sure if one THOROUGHLY investigated his military background, they probably will find the answers to why he changed within those 6 years. Most soldiers come out of basic training as a E-3 Private First Class (PFC). Even though I'm not surprised, he should have at least been at the rank of an E-4 Specialist/Corporal or an E-5 'Buck' Sergeant. I still remembered when I was in the 63rd ARCOM in California, it seemed liked every month young White soldiers that were barely out of basic training were being promoted to a higher rank while Black soldiers pretty much stayed at the same rank. I had a buddy who once served in an unit along the Berlin Wall during the Cold War. He had joined the reserves to continue building on his military retirement points. He would do everything the unit commander and others would tell him to do. He just knew by volunteering for whatever was requested from the higher ranks that he would get promoted real fast. I still remembered standing in formation while individuals were being called out to receive their new higher ranks. After all the names were called out, my buddy was still standing and watching with us as mostly young White soldier were getting the higher ranks. Not only he was pissed, I'm pretty sure it was a blow to his morale, which me and another buddy tried to warn him in case he was skipped over. After we were dismissed from drill, he had ridden back with me to Los Angeles (approximately 45 miles from Norco, CA) constantly repeating over and over again that he really needed a stiff drink for what he had just witnessed.

Micah Xavier Johnson was reportedly a good person gone bad. People like Johnson have no criminal background, they will not be on any terrorist or no fly lists. They stay under the radar, until they surface as a "lone wolf", committing murder and mayhem.

My question is, what turned him into a "lone wolf"? Most Black folks join the military as a means of during what's right for their country while making a living. It's ironic that those same feels can change within a 6 year period. IMO, I think the answer could be found if a thorough and accurate investigation was done on him during his time with the military.

Black folks have fallen in love with cops all of a sudden.

A few get killed and here we go, putting our dignity on the shelf for some false sense of unity.
Its not about falling in love with cops. It's about being realistic. The first rule to being pro-black is having common sense. Killing folks who had nothing to do with other folks did is flat out ignorant. Asking black police officers to lose their jobs when the fact is ninety nine percent of the blacks saying it would not stand up at their own jobs for racial equality. I have tried to get blacks over the last 25 years to file law suits and every time all of them have ran so let's be real. Cats like Zimmerman still walking around on the internet talking trash and making a mockery and not one fool got him. Why? The people who did the killings are at home in their beds sleeping. The folks who didn't are dead. What is there to celebrate bout that? We all have family members classmates who are in law enforcement that do their jobs the correct way and help people more then when know. We all are mad but I refuse to be happy about seeing someone die who didn't hurt the people who I'm mad about getting hurt. That is coward way out.

The ignorant will not understand your great post. They think & speak emotionally, not intelligently; but expected by those w/ high estrogen count smh. Family, friends, classmates, & alums who are in law enforcement trying to do things the right way & change this wretched system. They did not murder up anyone black or spanish yet they are worthy to be murdered as an emotional response? gtfoh dummy

What's even sadder is black folks saying don't vote , then in the same sentence say no one is helping the black community. You are the problem why we don't get help. So many folks wanna be pro black and don't understand what being pro black is. If you are helping create a problem and promote dumb shyt then you are not different from the ignorant white racist you let get into office. Folks wonder what made the difference in moving Atlanta to a progressive city vs the rest of major inner cities. We voted Mayors like Maynard Jackson and Andrew Young into office that got the ball rolling on advancing blacks economically to give them some type of power. Did all blacks get enough of the pie? No, but they understood getting some would create power to make a difference unlike the folks voted into office in Memphis, Birmingham and Detroit. Its good to talk a good game, but actions speak louder. How are you gonna say you are pro black then support all white businesses? Someone even questioned what will not shopping at white businesses do. I was done then. That showed you have no clue about how to proceed with a movement nor your history. .

Life changing events can cause uncontrollable anger. I'm no expert, but if you can't control your anger, Houston we have a problem! I think Johnson may have had post-traumatic stress disorder which resulted in his suicide by cop?

Bernard, I think you are absolutely correct about Johnson. I think he was definitely a disturbed powderkeg who was a trained professional soldier. A guy who had served two tours in Afghanistan and who had been observed by neighbors conducting drills in an obstacle course that he had erected in his backyard while wearing military fatigues and carrying a firearm! So, yes this guy was disturbed and had gravitated to the side of extracting focused racial revenge with white police officers as his target. I am troubled that most of the media that I have listened to has not portrayed the guy as being psychologically disturbed instead has simply focused on him as an angry black man who was a former soldier who had decided to start killing white police officers due to the recent events. Micah Johnson's murders simply created a tragedy within a tragedy. Instead of at least having that very focused National dialogue with positive, substantive and tangible results to served as a tribute to the two black men whose lives were viciously taken by white police officers, I am afraid that instead the National conversation will become twisted (as it already has) and the National airways unfortunately will be flooded by the sounds of Irish bagpipes playing amazing grace for sadly too many days and this moment in time to really do something substantial will gradually fade until the next tragedy that is captured on video. Until that time, the Police will return to their duties of policing the black communities and serving and protecting the white communities.

Pretty much this.

Well, according to the stats, they would've walked regardless of whether or not the incidents in Dallas had not occurred. Police officers who kill unarmed Black citizens get convicted .0098 percent of the time.

Boycotting has been going on since the '60's and the killings continue. It's gotten worse. Hasn't made a dent in reducing police killings. That's why I said what I said.
Boycotting White businesses won't stop the police killings. Show me the stats where it has.

Like one of the officers stated, from St. Louis who ended up quitting because of what he saw in Ferguson. He clearly stated that "not until other officers stand up against the crooked ones, the killings will continue." Those words are from a Black experienced officer's mouth, not mine.

Many of these police officers know what's going on in their departments and continue to LET it happen by not saying anything. This ties the hands of the courts because they don't want to speak up. These are people who've PROMISED and SWORE to uphold the law no matter what. RayRay and Pookie didn't promise to do this, the officers did though.

1 conviction out of 102 is ridiculous and should be an embarrassment to the nation.
It is unfortunate that the five police officers died, but even if only a fraction of the previous law enforcement officers had stepped up to the plate on a few of the 102 previous cases to help get convictions, one can almost guarantee this wouldn't have happened.

And to add: for the most part, Black folks on average don't shoot police officers even though it's the total opposite with officers shooting Black folks.
Not even during the Jim Crow days did we shoot crooked White police officers. White males do that.
So to go all crazy over one dude losing his mind, and pinning it all on Black folks in general is over the top. Black folks DON'T SHOOT OFFICERS .

Here are some stats: Police killed almost five black people per every million black residents of the U.S., compared with about 2 per million for both white and hispanic victims. That's two and a half times the rate of Whites and Hispanics.
25 officers were killed in 2015 (which is a very, very low number), while 102 unarmed Black folks were killed.

http://www.mintpressnews.com/776-people-killed-by-police-so-far-in-2015-161-of-them-unarmed/209127/

Those celebrating the deaths of officers are out of line, nevertheless it just shows the frustrations and boiling points that people are at.

Im not advocating for killing cops. What I am advocating for is us refusing to fall for the okie doke. All this hand-holding is fraudulent. It always has been.

This isn't about not celebrating death, voting or pulling our pants up or anything else. This is about us handing action items over to whites and demanding them to make due without us losing our dignity in the process.

I GUARANTEE you that the vigils & hand holding with police officers that happened in Huntsville Friday was nothing but some in-the-moment emotions on both sides. Blacks saying "please come together with us tonight" and whites saying "we sure will, because you're not demanding anything."

@CEE DOG and everyone else who cosigned his misunderstanding, answer this. Do you believe police departments will enact internal reforms and procedures for officers who shoot innocent victims? We KNOW they wont get convicted in the court, but will the departments do the right thing?

Serious question, no ulterior motive...

What is a black officer at a department where this is not occurring supposed to do? We all know that there are racist officers out there, but how can you speak out against what you don't see? They get lumped into a basket as "sitting by and saying/doing nothing", when in actuality, they have no story to tell or action to take.

Just genuinely curious as to what people are expecting from black officers who have no knowledge of or involvement in the activities of officers who engage in these bad practices.

I think it was a combination of post-traumatic stress (PTS) and whatever racism he experienced with his Army Reserve Unit. With those two things working together, he definitely was a psychologically disturb young man. Basically, a powder keg waiting to be ignited and the two recent events of White cops killing Black men were the matches that lit the fuse.

You and I usually see eye to eye and we still do but I think you are misinterpreting what is being said. People should be concerned when innocent folk are killed but where is this same out pouring from the police (or law enforcement in general) when an innocent Black person is killed by one of them? I have men and women I grew up with who are in law enforcement. My first cousin's brother-in-law just retired from HPD...the drummer in the band I use to play in was just promoted to Sergeant. There are guys on this board who are in law enforcement and I would not want to see anything happen to them but this has to run both ways.

This is what needs to happen:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/peter-rosenberg-alton-sterling_us_577de870e4b0344d514df799

And until it does these "incidences" and high emotions are going to continue. Other than Nakia Jones, what other person in law enforcement has spoken out?

Now some people are talking about cops will not do their jobs if Black folk keep protesting. I think that is an more of an indictment against the police than the protesters because in essence they are saying if we cannot kill you with impunity then we will not protect you.

What does it matter if you are killed by pookie or officer Dan? You are just as dead.

As far as the guy in Dallas who killed those police he was a powder keg waiting to go off and allegedly the two most recent police murders set him off. No protester has been linked to what happened but you have elected officials....WHITE elected officials linking it Black Lives Matter.

What Black officers should be wondering is if they do this to Black folk (especially Black men) what are they thinking about me. Yeah, you wear the blue but are you really in that clique. I recall two Black female officers in Houston who whipped the asses of some prostitutes who spit on them and those ladies went to jail. A white woman police officer hit a handcuffed Black man in the jaw while news cameras filmed his capture and he was being lead to a patrol car....the white woman got fired.

It sounds like the investigation to what happen to this young man should start when he enter the military. I hope the military is not allowing 18 y/o Black militants to join and if they are, shame on the military recruiters. Six years is a very short time period for someone to change overnight.

Johnson decided it was time to go to war. I don't support what he did but I don't think he is a bad person by any means. Sometimes, people just get fed up.
