LeFlore's Johnny Mayhane made it official this week, signing a college basketball scholarship with Tulane, and two of his classmates signed as well.
LeFlore point guard Tifton Tate chose Alabama State and Lady Rattlers forward Jamie Freeman signed with Okaloosa-Walton (Fla.) College.
Tate averaged 11 points, 8 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game and goes to an Alabama State program that signed two Rattlers last year: Andrew Hayles and Bryan Campbell. He had also been recruited by Southern, Alabama A&M, Jacksonville and several junior colleges.
In the last three years, 16 players from LeFlore's boys' basketball program have signed, with seven going to Division I schools.

Go Freda!!!Talented trio of Lady Jaguars sign up for collegiate careers
By McKenzie Jackson
CrossRoadsNews, Inc.
High school athletic powerhouse Stephenson High has always had some of DeKalb County’s top-level sports talent and it proved it again when three of its athletes signed letters of intent to colleges in Virginia and Alabama.
.....
On the basketball court, Assunta, a center/forward for Stephenson, helped lead the Jaguars to three straight state semifinals and the 2004 5-A state championship.
Listed as one of the best in the state, she describes her playing style as a physical one.
“I play aggressive,” she says. “I like to bang and play hard defense. I’m not really concerned that much about scoring points, I’m more concerned about rebounds and assists.”
Assunta will major in biology and wants to go on to be a physician assistant.
