What is it going to take?

Toi,
Again, I disagree.

The SWAC and bcf didn't suffer any last year, when JSU had a disaster of a season. (running clock, no home wins, 8 losses in a row). It's not suffering any now either, with the season JSU is having.
Just because JSU is losing and suffering, dont think that other schools aint enjoying football.

I can only wonder if yall think the SWAC and bcf suffered in the 90s when Gram was losing.

Yes, BCF as a whole suffered when Grambling was down. Why because people care about Grambling. AlaState could go 12-0 3 years in a row and never draw a crowd outside of Alabama.

You can't keep us down.
You can't speak to the future dude. We can speak to whats happening now.
And if you insist that you're some kind of "elite" team then you're crazy.

You may have a history. But it's just that......HISTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nebraska has a history too, but you'll be hard pressed to find anybody who would call them "elite" right now either.

right now, you're a team that can't cross the 50 (twice), beg for a running clock, won 1 game in a whole year, got a coach who doesn't respect your school or the players, tell me what's so "elite" about that.

When you look at the FACTS, nothing about JSU is "elite" now.

To be quite frank, you're MUCH, MUCH closer to being laughingstock than elite.

...and MH, we could correct that in a year and average 35K per game in Jackson. You can't do that. Schools right down the road from you won't play you.....MEAC teams won't play you. You offer nothing. You could not buy a home and home with FAMU, A&T, or BCC. Their fans don't know anything about you and you don't have the fans or the BOOM!!! The mere thought that the BOOM was coming to Hampton had people making plans not to go their own game but to see us. Name recognition is something you don't have. We do. Don't hate it.

That we can agree on... :(

The only way that BCF will suffer is if there is no bands to perform at halftime.

Sperm that is not true at every school. Yeah we have band heads at every school but at JSU, the team drives our attendance. Prime example...in 1996, JSU played FAMU in Jackson. Both teams were defending conference champions, ranked 1 and 2 in BCF polls and undefeated. FAMU's band did not come and we drew 38K fans to Memorial. In 1998, JSU was 0-3 and FAMU was waxing people..had just beat Norfolk by like 80-0 and FAMU's band came to Jackson...the attendance was 14K. Same goes for Howard...they came to Jackson in 1997 as the top team in BCF...we were defending SWAC champs, and we drew 28K fans to Jackson. By 1999, Howard sucked and we only drew about 12K to Jackson. We could do that all over again, we just need to win.

.MEAC teams won't play you.
get your story straight

but since playing MEAC teams apparently means something to you
2003
ASU vs BCC
ASU vs FAMU

2004
ASU vs Howard

2005
ASU vs South Carolina St

2006
ASU vs BCC

once this dumb 9 game mandate is squashed, you just might be surprised at a standing date ASU makes with a MEAC team.

so, try again on that one.

You are talking about JSU and how your team's success affects your attendance. I'm talking about BCF overall.

In Dallas, GSU plays PVU each year. By halftime there are 60,000+ in the stands. At the end of the third, you may be lucky to have 5,000.

If you take two BCF teams out of their home town and have them to play in any major non-HBCU city without their bands, it wouldn't matter WHO the 2 teams were, you couldn't draw a crowd. Add in their bands, then you may have a sellout.

Bruh, you can't go no further than last year....LOL and to be honest, you are only getting those dates BECAUSE OF THE 9-GAME MANDATE. When the mandate is over and those teams get to schedule, SU, JSU, Alcorn, and Grambling, you won't get the calls anymore. You all actually need the mandate.

That is why you need teams like JSU who don't draw 60K for bands. That is why BCF is where it is now...we need more fans like JSU fans who care about the game. That is why without JSU and teams like us...BCF suffers. Fcuk the band. And just like your little game in St. Louis...JSU could go there and draw 50K next year. That is why you guys were trying to get SU there. You need to play a team that people want to see...it ain't all about the bands. I would be stupid to say that the bands don't matter becasue they matter a lot but to put people in the stands you need a good combination of band, fan support and NAME RECOGNITION. That's JSU all day.

that doesnt even begin to make sense.
ASU playing BCC because of a mandate? :smh:
ASU playing FAMU, and Howard because of the mandate?:smh:
ASU playing SCSU on ESPN because of a mandate? :smh:

why don't you just admit that you screwed up by saying that "MEAC teams won't play you"?
I came right back and showed you 4 straight years of ASU games against the MEAC.

sheesh, for once, admit that you were wrong

Yeah, and they all just so happen to start around the SAME time....geez. The mandate really started in 2003 but JSU got a waiver then not to play PV. They are only playing you becasue the bigtime schools are locked up in contracts...so they go to the 4th or 5th choice. They are gonna have to start calling Annie Mae next once AlaState gets booked. It ain't that hard to see yo. It really ain't. So tell your board that you need the mandate...or else it's back to Miles, Chattanooga, and JC Smith...LOL

just won't admit when you're wrong, huh TP?
:smh:

not surprising though, considering how you still think Bell is a good coach

oh well....

What are the logical odds of UAPB going 12-0 and someone noticing??

'Bout as logical as the odds of your answering my question with an ANSWER and not another QUESTION.

This makes NO logical sense.

Though I'm no JSU fan, BCF is better served with a strong JSU. They have history, tradition, and recognition. A strong JSU only makes BCF stronger, and more appealling as a whole.

Because of their ability to draw, because of thier history, and tradition, make's people take notice to that, no matter how we may feel about JSU, it's true. Also it makes people take notice to those who play them, granted winning helps out a lot, but nothing helps more than having a recognizable name.

Schools like Colorado, Kansas St, Virginia Tech, and a few others like them go nowhere without playing schools with recognizable names. I mention these 3 schools because they benefited by beating a weak OU, and average UT teams (UC, & KSU), and a weak Miami (VT) in the 90's. They don't win these games with recognizable names, then they're lumped right in there with the Utah's, Fresno St's, Southern Mississippi's, and Louisville's of the world. Good teams, but not quite ready for the BCS.

How serious do you think people would take the Big 12 with weak OU, & Nebraska teams. The addition of a strong Miami alone, has people now talking about the ACC is the best football conference in America. You think they'd say the same thing if VT, and BC made the move to the ACC without Miami? I don't think so.

I'm not knocking ASU, or PB by no means, but historically JSU has been one of the locamotive's that powered the SWAC, and BCF. BCF needs certain schools to be strong, the same as D-1 needs strong Notre Dame's, Alabama's, USC's, Michigan's, Oklahoma's, and Nebraska's.

NICE
