When we take away one's freedom of speech simply because he says something we may not like, then ALL of us are then in jeopardy of losing our freedom of speech.

If the Klan wanted to say something, I'd support their right to say it.
Why, you might ask would I say such a thing?
Because when it's my time to say what I want to say, I'm going to demand the same respect and freedom to speak as they were given.

So, to make a long story short CeeDog, it's not about race, it's about our Constitutional rights and our Civil rights.
Let's not forget that and let's not allow unchecked emotion to override the precious "rights" and "freedoms" we now enjoy in this country, because once those rights are gone, they're gone forever, never to return.

Arent we STILL demanding the same respect and freedom that they have? Do they have to have their "right to vote" renewed like ours?
 
Why don't people say the same things when Dave Chappelle has a skit called "The n****r Family" and all of these other comedians talk about people of other races. Every night on comic view, the majority of the comedians have something funny to say about white people. But the minute someone gets called out of their name, we develop thin skin. If you want to dish it, then you have to be able to take it. If you're going to fire Imus, then fire every other black talk show host that calls a white person out of his name. This is on the verge of censorship.

Jay Rob Howard Cosel(SP) was fired for calling black players monkeys and other Sports analyst have been black balled for calling black atheletes names. This is no different, he called college women hoes. I have two daughters and this would hurt them dearly. Women and their self image are fragile beast. We cannot allow people to call our women Hoes.

It's called taking a stand...the sad thing is some black folks don't see anything wrong w/what he did. Maybe they agree w/him...who knows. All I know is, if this had happened w/any other race, it would damn near be a racial war going on right now...they'd be so mad about it.

Our people, don't seem to GAF....it's his job to makes folks laugh...he's just doing what others have done. :smh: I mean really, he's only talking about one team of black women. Ain't like he said it about the entire black race, ya know.

Yes we are, but if it wasn't written in black and white, our demanding wouldn't mean jack.

If the right's of one race is snatched away from them, irregardless of the reason, all other races must realize that at some point, they're time is coming as well.
This is one way to tell if a nation is in decline.

This is why we must not go down this slippery slope of "censorship sensitivity".

Know your position in life and act accordingly. Lets say your daughter was crwoned Mrs. America and on the nightly News the reporter joked that she was a Nappy headed Hoe like the the Jigga boos. Now the entire nation has been told your daughter is a nappy headed ho. She is now crushed and you cannot do a thing about it. You justify it by saying the rapper do it so why should I be mad. The comedians do it so why should I be mad.

A lot of us do it every day, and some don't think twice about not saying it.

Of fa sho! What's that line? "We have to work just as hard as they do to prove ourselves." That is why you wont hear a "Tom Joyner" do things like that. They would have snatched his microphone so fast that it would have sent him back 20 years before his hair fell out.

Exactly...that's just the way it is. Don't mean I have to be happy about it, though. He just got a slap on the wrist...won't affect his ass any. Next year, he'll be calling us something else and black folks still won't GAF. They'll make every excuse in the book for him and call all of us that are offended, sensitive.
