Jackson exits preseason game in first quarter
Associated Press

BALTIMORE -- Minnesota Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson hurt his right knee and was removed in the first quarter of Saturday night's preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens.

The injury occurred late in the quarter on a tackle by Baltimore linebacker Antwan Barnes. Jackson was running around right end on a scramble before Barnes caught up to the third-year quarterback and hit him on the leg.

.....

I hope it is not serious. I was kinda pulling for the guy. I really don't think he will be much of QB, but you never want to see an athlete miss time because of an injury.

I hope and pray all is well with TJ! I think TJ will be a great QB in the NFL and I think he will start to show it this season!

Co-Sign! The Vikings and Cowboys will be in the NFC Championship game this year. He still has a very good game before taking the shot to the knee.

He was 7-11 for 82 yds in the 1st quarter. That's pretty good. I think he's gonna turn some heads this year. His knee is just bruised so he's ok.

Going into the season they are the top 2 teams in the NFC. The Vikings will be the top team in the NFC North and the Cowboys will once again be number one in the NFC East.

Minnesota is a trendy pick much like how the Dolphins were the trendy pick going into the 2006 season and the Saints were the trendy pick in 2007. I will not buy into the Vikes until Jackson shows he can be consistent in the regular season. And that goes for Tony Romo as well.

Romo is being lauded as the third best QB in the NFL, but he has not won a single playoff game. I don't get that at all. Rex Grossman has won more playoff games than Romo.

In all honesty the NFC is up for grabs.

Grossman probably won't even be in the league after this year. I'm not talking about the past and what a team has DONE, I'm talking about what they are doing now.

In the brief highlights that I saw, he looked good. It was reported that he walked off on his own. I am hoping that it is nothing major.

If you are not talking about what the Vikings and Cowboys have done in the past, then why are they your favorites to play in the NFC title game?

There has to be a reason why Minnesota, a team that has done nothing since Randy Moss and Culpepper left the twin cities, are all of a sudden Super Bowl bound.

The main thing that stopped the Cowboys from going to the NFC Championship game and perhaps the Super Bowl was themselves. The Vikings main problem was the lack of experience T-Jack had. Now that he has a year under his belt, he should be more comfortable and be able to make plays. Both teams have the playmakers on both sides of the ball to make it to the NFC Championship game. Now if you feel differently please state a team that is better than the Vikings and or Cowboys defensively and offensively.

I'll give you NFC teams that are better than Minnesota right now on either offense or defense.

Seattle (offense and defense)
New York (offense and defense)
Washington (defense)
Tampa Bay (defense)
Saints (offense)
Bears (defense)
Eagles (offense and defense)
Panthers (defense)
Green Bay (defense)

Minnesota only has one impact player on offense and that is Adrian Peterson. And please don't say Benard Berrian. That is a really bad signing. As for the defense Minnesota was ranked No. 10 in the NFC and No. 20 in all the NFL last year. Not good at all.

I think the only team in the NFC that can matchup with Dallas on offense is the Saints. And the only team that can matchup with Dallas on both sides of the ball are the Giants.

Like I said before name a team that is better defensively and offensively than either team. There are 3 phases to football and named those two. I guess you just wanted to find a way to throw the Bears in there. But since you did mention the Giants, they are basically in the same boat as the Vikings and will go as far as their QB takes them.

I just did name those teams.

I'm not sipping the Cowboys and Vikings Kool-Aid like you are. Minnesota has not done anything to tell me that they are ready to win or compete for a Super Bowl. Can Jackson step up? Minnesota has a heck of a run defense, but that pass defense sucked last year. Is Berrian a legit No.1 receiver? He sure did not play like one in Chicago.

Dallas has a solid team, but can that offensive line hold up? Will the Dallas defense play championship football when it matters? Can Tony Romo be consistent? Can Marion Barber be the guy? Who will be Dallas' No. 2 WR?

As for the Bears, I'm not being a homer. When healthy, the Bears can have the best defense in the NFL. The Bears had three Pro Bowlers on defense last year and five the year before.

Oh, and preseason highlights means nothing.

Dude, please!! Berrian didn't play that good because Chicago QB's are garbage and I see you never mentioned anything about their offense. Oh well, nevermind back to the original topic...

So you think Berrian will be better this season playing with a QB who was massively inconsistent last year? I know first-year QBs have to take their lumps, but Jackson still has a lot to prove.

I think T Jack's play this preseason was very good. I believe that he'll be more than able to lead the Vikes to a pretty good season. Watching that play, dude gotta get down. I don't know if that was 3rd down and he was fighting to get the 1st down, or what??? Running through LBs and safeties ain't smart for a QB to be doing. Let AP and Chester do that.

Whew.... I think he'll be alright. He hobbled off the field and he was standing up on the sideline. Hopefully that's a sign of nothing serious.

Please name One QB on the Bears who is better than T-Jack?
