Vikings QB Jackson leaves game with injured knee

Please name One QB on the Bears who is better than T-Jack?

In all honesty, none of the Bears QBs have been productive. However, Jackson has not established himself as a constent performer either.

Plus, the comparsion is lame in the first-place, considering that Orton is 12-7 in his career and Grossman was a tremendous factor in leading the Bears to the Super Bowl.

Jackson has only played one season, and it was a below average season at best.

I am not saying Grossman or Orton are solid QBs. They are not by any stretch of the imagination.

But you can't say that Jackson is better than any QB right now after coming off a 9 TD 12 INT season.

That is more of a premature statement than saying Tony Romo is the third best QB in the NFL.

Dude just go ahead and admit you don't like T-Jack because he's in the same division as the Bears. Grossman was just the QB on the Bears Super Bowl team because the rest of the QBs were garbage (like they are now) and the defense was the tremendous factor, not him.

I was waiting for you to say that. You can make the argument that the Minnesota running game and their defense helped keep the Vikings in the race for a Wild Card spot last season. Not Jackson.

During the 2006 playoffs, Grossman made some really big plays--especially against Seahawks and Saints. While many will focus on the two interceptions he threw in the Super Bowl, he completed 20 of 28 passes and threw a TD in that game. The defense in that game was bad as well after being so great during the regular season. Granted the two interceptions hurt, but the Colts had the ball half the game.

The Bears defense just could not get three-and-outs when they needed them. And it hurt the offense.

But now Grossman has fallen off since that 2006 season and is in a battle with Orton for the starting job in the lamest QB struggle in the NFL next to the 49ers battle.

Even with that, Jackson has not shown me anything in his brief time in the NFL that would convince me he can lead Minnesota to a Super Bowl. I might be wrong when the season is over, but for now I am sticking with my opinion.

I never said T-Jack did keep them in the race. I'm saying from the offseason work he's put in and having Berrian there ( A WR who can actually be huge playmaker). You can say preseason doesn't mean anything if you want to but if you compare Jackson playing in the preseason last yr to this yr. you will obviously seen an overall improvement for him.

Come on, y'all haven't figured out yet that Kendrick is the ULTIMATE homer on the board. If it ain't Chicago pro sports or collegiate-midwest he ain't giving credit.

the vikings aren't going anywhere with tjack as the qb and they know it. that's why the did some illegal stuff to get brett, but it didn't work.

did that guy say grossman made huge contributions to the bears superbowl run? is that something like engineering td drives? anything can be justified I guess

1. Again, Berrian is not an elite WR. He can make a big play here and there, but NFL defense coordinators will not lose sleep trying to come up with schemes to contain him.
2. It is easy to get excited about Jackson completing passes against vanilla defensive schemes in August. Can he do the same thing for 16 weeks when everything is on the line?
3. I had a chance to see Jackson at the tail end of the regular season, and saw that he had a good arm, nice size and came move a little. However, the decision-making concerned me a lot. That is why I'm so apprehensive in believing in Minnesota. If he can't fix that, the Vikes will not go anywhere.

You want to talk about a homer? I find it funny you co-sign about something you clearly do. If I'm not mistaken, Jackson went to Alabama State. And considering you have a hornet on your avatar, it all add up as to why you think Minnesota is all of a sudden an elite NFC team.

I've admitted the Bears QBs are much to be desired. However, because Jackson went to your alma mater, you are jumping on the bandwagon of a guy who has done nothing in the league yet.

Oh, you mean like how Tony Romo engineered that game-winning drive against the Giants in the playoffs last year?

Damn, I forgot, that did not happen. But people say he's the third best QB in the NFL. The biggest lied I heard since those Chinese gymnasts were of legal competition age.

Nice job with the detective work, Sherlock. I've already stated that the QB play was a reason that Minnesota wasn't in the playoffs last yr. The Vikings have an above average Defense, Great OL, a great RB, and a nice core of WRs. BTW, I'm a Cowboy fan.

Cowboys fan? Good luck with that.

dude

weve had this discussion once before.
the cowboys are good because of romo
the bears were good in spite of grossman
the cowboys prosperred because of romos plays
the bears spent a lot of time trying to overcome grossmans plays
if they switched teams tmrw the bears would become a superbowl contender....the cowboys would be choosing 3rd or 4th in next years draft.

Tony Romo is a fantastic athlete, but not a big game QB. What big game has he won since taking over as starter in Dallas?

Right now Romo is remembered for dropping the snap on a game-tying extra point attempt in the playoffs, going to Mexico with Jessica Simpson and continuing Dallas' 13-year drought in the postseason by losing to Eli Manning and the Giants at Texas Stadium.

Oh, and when Dallas lost that game, Terrell Owens tried to deflect attention from Romo by going Elizabeth Hasselbeck during the postgame press conference.

I'm not saying Grossman is better than Romo because he is not. (I wished the Bears would have drafted Chan Henne) Not even close, but Grossman has played in a Super Bowl, while Romo has not done well in the postseason.

Out of all of the starting QBs in the NFC North, I would take T-Jack over the other 3.

This is truly a bama comment. No real facts to back it up what so ever. The vikings have the biggest question mark at qb in the entire division. Nothing has been established at that position in years. Jackson hasn't surpassed Grossman in anything when it comes to the league.

:smh: The Bears have the worst starting QB competition battle in perhaps the entire history of the NFL. If you ask any football fan who's the worst QB in the NFL today, Grossman will be chosen 9 times out of 10. If you can name more negative things than positive about him, then this means that your QB is garbage. Detroit has a solid QB in Kitna but the truth is that he's only had 2 years in which has had more TDs than Ints ( He's been in the league for 10 yrs.) I don't recall him ever leading a team to the playoffs, although i could be mistaken. GB is breaking a QB who really hasn't played in his career but had ONE good game against the Cowboys and will have to prove if he can become a winner. COmpared to T-Jack, Rodgers is slower and doesn't have the arm strength. Now those are some facts for ya, partna! And since you want to talk about the Vikings not establishing anything at the QB position, please tell me when did the Bears establish something at QB?

1. The Bears QBs are bad.

2. Jackson has not proven anything in the NFL except for being vastly inconsistent. I don't think Jackson had one game that really stood out as a wow game all last season. There was talk about McNabb and Favre replacing him after last season. But yet, he is going to lead Minnesota to the NFC title game?

The talk was done by the Media, the head coach said he wanted any of those two QB's.

Jackson is an unproven commodity with high expectations. If he doesn't lead the vikings to a winning season (or even given an oppurtunity) he will be considered a bust.
