The view of taking the vaccine or not taking it

The main concern I have about the vaccine is how fast it was developed. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but in the back of my mind, I feel they may have had this in the works and were waiting for the "right time" to release it.

The "technology" behind the mRNA vaccine has been in development and testing since the 1980s. The difference is covid provided a reason to fund it beyond the previous level of testing. Human trials cost MONEY, and before covid, governments just didn't have the will to fund this stuff "just in case"

Either y’all want the pandemic to end or not. That’s all it comes down to. So many people don’t want to mask up, social distance or limit their movements or take vaccines and expect everything to get back to normal.

Brain damage.
Has nothing to do with taking a shot. Wearing the mask. Social distancing and taking precautions is different from forcing folks to take a shot. In fact most of the folks taking the shot will take the mask off and party after it. How is that going to help?

My parents got it, I’m not. My brother says he and his family aren’t. I don’t trust these people. Plain and simple. And I know the arguments of having had to get vaccines in the past, but that was before we were old enough to have a say so that’s a bad argument.

And it was certainly before we had the information on how white people have and are currently using science and medicine, vaccines specifically, as a weapon against Black people. I personally think the story about covid originating in a wet market is some bs; I believe it came outta the same labs most of em come out of. So along that line of thought, I’d have to be crazy to let them give me a vaccine for something they themselves created and released.

Maybe some of us don’t have the info about this kinda thing, even tho it’s been available for at least the last decade for those who cared. There are others of us who’d love to believe it stopped with Tuskegee. Others have all the info and chose to disregard it and get the shot anyway because “this time is different.” All I know is that each of us will have to live with his/her decision. If I’m wrong then I’ll have to live with that but based on the history and the info I believe I’m gonna be alright. And those of you who chose to get the shot will have to do the same if once again white folk prove themselves to be the same evil and greedy people they’ve historically been.

I'm not taking anything that I'm not certain where the origin and/source of the issue derived from. We know who the author of confusion is...so why do we fall for these traps all the dang time. We believe everything told to us as long as it means we get back to normal in Babylon!

I, for one am not taking it because of free will and I just don't trust what they are telling the masses! This country has NEVER looked out for black folks. Why would they start now? The Most High gave us free will and if Man decides to take that away due to this vaccine enrollment, then you already know what their original intent truly was!

For those that decide on getting it, good luck! For those that decide not too, be blessed!

Don't sign up to be apart of Babylon if you know its going to fall!

Here is the thing. Your decision — whatever it is in this situation — does not only impact you. You can talk about not trusting white people, the government or medical experts. And they have earned the mistrust. But when anyone decides to not mask, social distance or take the vaccine, they’re making livelihood choices for other people (family, friends and strangers). We know the consequences of that. That’s what separates this from most individual decisions that really don’t necessarily impact others. Literally every decision we make regarding our approach to navigating our current conditions with COVID will determine how we all collectively function.

Ask yourself this question please! Why is this being pushed in our communities specifically and not anywhere else. Black churches, school and universities in urban areas and health clinics in the hood? Why don't you see these same PWC institutions and churches enforcing the collective idea of group enforcement of taking the vaccine? Something aint right about this and some of us see it while others don't!

To each their own. But don't take away my free will because of your own fear, reliance and overall belief in the system!

The vaccine actually initially wasn’t being “pushed” in our communities at all. When the vaccine first was being administered in December and January, Black populations were getting vaccinated significantly less than whites.

There were tremendous accessibility and equity issues, particularly as it related to people being able to register for vaccines, where vaccines were being administered and who qualified to get them, which left Blacks behind. Affluent whites were traveling to Black neighborhoods to get vaccinated, reducing the ability for us to get his inequity resulted in attempting to get more Black people vaccinated because we as a population are vulnerable to sickness and death from COVID.

Even with the effort to encourage more Black people to get vaccinated and assuage fears through educational efforts, Black people still — through no fault of their own — are well behind in vaccinations compared to whites and Native Americans for example.

And nobody is taking away your free will. Y’all can do whatever you want, which is why folks are traveling all over the place for spring break despite all the infections and deaths from the virus.

LikeI said and I mean this seriously. Get sick with Covid because you won't mask up, social distance or take the vaccine stay where you are and heal yourself. Do not run to a hospital where they will use medicines you do not know the orgin of in an attempt to save your life.

The people that dont want to take it, they should not take it. I am personally pleased about republicans not taking the vaccine. It frees up vaccines for those that want it, it will remove some from the voting roles and give some medical debt.

You're misinformed. There was a big push to get more vaccines in underserved black areas because our people were not receiving access to enough dosages. Further, the complaint was that white people were coming to our neighborhoods getting vaccinations.

Yeah that's what they said but that's not what people are seeing on the streets. Or at least what was actually reported on the streets!! If you want to fool black people, all you gotta do is make them feel like they're missing out on something and get the media to push it!

Again, to each their own, but know that Amerika has never had the best interest of our people in mind and I don't they will start now. The stumbling block of Balem and Balek! Smh

Severely misinformed

As a few others have said, I'm not gonna browbeat people who do take the vaccine so don't browbeat people who choose not to do so especially with the history of medical apartheid in this country that is still occurring right now (not just with the vaccine but just overall in the medical industry).

As someone mentioned, people take the vaccine and then not wear a mask. The CDC has already warned that numbers could spike again if people stop wearing their masks and social distancing which we KNOW is happenng within the white community (Miami Beach about a week and a half ago) who make up about 60% of the country's population. Wearing a mask and getting this vaccine has been politicized with them so how about working on that segment that many work with instead of wanting to come to blows with people who look like us

My biggest turn offs during this pandemic has been the vaccine proponents chastising people who don't want it and want them to ignore history and the people who didnt get a stimulus thumbing their noses at those who did

You keep ignoring the fact that they can infect others unknowingly.....or maybe they do not care.

Would you feel the same way if there was someone going around passing an STD?

Please go get vaccinated. That said, if you choose not to, please stay off campus. We will be enjoying the game, hanging out, enjoying the cookout, maskless and the last thing we want is to have to think about covid. We'll just have to catch you on zoom.

The good news is those that get the vaccine will not suffer from the variants like those who don’t get the vaccine.

They have a choice, it’s theirs to make. I just hope their estates are prepared and / or they are financially able to cover shortfalls in their health insurance if they get sick.

That goes both ways my friend. We'll see what happens when the long term effects from this vaccine begin to show up, and they will.

Wearing a mask and social distancing has worked for me thus far, I don't see why it won't continue to.

12 people are behind most of the anti-vaxxer disinformation you see on social media

If you catch your old college roommate sharing COVID-19 vaccine misinformation on Facebook, the odds are that these falsehoods are coming from one of twelve people.

That’s right. Just twelve individuals.

A new report from the Center for Countering Digital Hate and Anti-Vax Watch found that up to 65 percent of “anti-vaccine content” on Facebook and Twitter originated from twelve influencers within the anti-vaxxer movement.

The report focused on these twelve accounts after an analysis of content that was shared and posted on Facebook and Twitter 812,000 times between Feb. 1 and March 16.

On Facebook alone, the content from these individuals, which the reports dubs as the “Disinformation Dozen,” accounts for 73 percent of all anti-vaxxer content posted or shared on the platform in the last two months.

The largest anti-vaxxer influencer on social media, according to the report, is Joseph Mercola. Mercola is an alternative medicine promoter who runs a multimillion dollar online business selling treatments and dietary supplements. The FDA recently sent Mercola a warning over his sham treatments for COVID-19.

Another major culprit is Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Kennedy, the nephew of John F. Kennedy, is perhaps one of the most high profile influencers in the anti-vaxxer community. Last month, Instagram banned him from the platform for violating the site’s coronavirus vaccine misinformation policy.
