The view of taking the vaccine or not taking it

Only if you want to see a difference...the principle is the same.
No it's not. One of my boys doesn't want to take it. He took the flu shot and it make him very sick one time. So I don't blame him for not taking it. He is doing what's better for him. Why should he be penalized for something that may make him sick? So he should he feel as though folks take it and get sick be denied treatment for taking it?

ALL medicine is modern when it is first developed. Y'all need to stop drinking the koolaid and not knowing it.

There is a lawsuit going on from from one the drug makers who knew the medicine they produced was making people sick. They had another fix for it, but decided not to put the correct medicine on the market until the bad one pattern expired for two years for profit. We're not talking 20 years ago. We're talking about with in the last five years

I do not take flu shots. But this stuff has been proven to take you out in a very short period of time and will have you taking others out with you even if you feel okay.
It is better to feel bad and get better than feel bad and die. I had no adverse reaction to the vaccine. I know people who had chills and fever after taking the vaccine but today they are here to tell about it. I had a classmate who almost passed from it. It took her about 6 months to fully recover. She had to go into an assisted living facility for about 3 months because she could do nothing for herself...and I mean NOTHING. She had to learn to walk all over again. Another guy I grew up with who played in the NFL contracted it from co-workers who refused to wear masks. He was buried about two weeks ago. He caught it and within days he was gone.

Why not take the flu shot then? See, this is where my apprehension about the COVID vaccine kicks in. You were willing to take it but not the flu vaccine. Both sicknesses can and have killed people.

If this thing only affected the person who contracted it I would say have it your way but you can infect others without your knowledge. You can be asymptomatic and infect others whose immune system isn't as strong as yours.

This thing hit so fast that there was not time to do extensive study. People were dropping like flies. Over 500,000 people just in this country that they are willing to acknowledge. This vaccine was not churned out overnight as some would have you believe. They were people who volunteered to test the vaccine. This thing continues to take out entire families because one person was infected and brought it home.

I have taken the flu shot before. If I get the flu I can take an antibiotic and chicken soup and get well. Chicken soup is not going to help with Covid. Also, if I have the flu I know it and everybody else knows it and can take steps to avoid me until I am well.

I have not had a cold nor the flu in eons because I wash my hands after using toilets and if it is a public facility I do not touch anything after my hands are washed except a paper towel. I turn the faucet off with the paper towel and open the door with the paper towel. I have been doing this for at least 30 years and have not had a cold since I began the practice.

I agree with you about affecting others without knowing but how can you say the vaccine wasn't developed overnight? COVID became a world wide issue in 2020. I had not heard anything about it prior to that time frame. So to me, it was developed overnight (I'm comparing time it took to come up with other vaccines).

This is a great discussion I appreciate your answers and I hope you are not taking offense to the questions I am asking. Do you think it takes longer for an antibiotic to be developed or a vaccine?

Flu shots don’t “make you sick.” It’s the body generating a natural immune response to it, which causes flulike symptoms. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, either. Some people have immune responses to vaccines and some don’t. I had an immune response to my second COVID-19 dose that lasted a day. I had no reaction to the first dose. Some people have gotten both doses and felt nothing at all. Others were taken out after either one or both doses. It just depends on how your immune system responds.

I have no idea. I defer to the medical people and scientists. There is a pediatrician in our tailgate group and she keeps us up to date and she caught it from her patients. Though she had all the PPE and precautions she STILL caught it. She caught it early and took steps to minimize its affect. She has been vaccinated also.

Vaccine development started last February after scientists first studied and then sequenced the virus. The vaccines were seemingly developed overnight because all of the red tape and funding hang ups that normally result in vaccines taking years to get approved were not an issue. Vaccine trials were happening in real-time in early 2020 so scientists could study real world impacts. Because of those factors, it is how we got vaccines in a year.

This Covid-19 thing is definitely not a farce. I have an uncle that died from it about 3 months ago and a blended family member that passed away last month from it.

I had a response to the shot as well (single dose). I took it last Saturday and the following day my bones were aching and slept through the day on Sunday (couldn't stay awake too long). I felt back to normal on Tuesday (Monday, I was a little under the weather but not as bad).

The main concern I have about the vaccine is how fast it was developed. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but in the back of my mind, I feel they may have had this in the works and were waiting for the "right time" to release it.
Understandable concern. This article address that. It seems like it happened overnight but actually mrna tech been a long time in development. There is a ton of new stuff coming. Cancer vaccine shots, a new flu vaccine. If you invest, the long play is biotech. I love crispr. they've cured sickle cell (3 of my kids have it). that trial is still finishing up. their gene therapy tech also works for diabetes I & II.

And you are here to tell about it.

One thing these administers of the Covid vaccine do is check on you after you leave the facility. First you are suppose to stay at the site for 15 minutes immediately after the shot incase there is an adverse reaction and they have nurses in the waiting area to care for you if there is a problem. Then I got a text a couple of weeks later checking on me to see if things were going okay.

Please don't get me wrong. I repeat I'm not against the vaccine. I think it's wonderful that it's there to help people. I believe and know covid-19 is real. I've had friends to have it. One of my close friends wife past in January from it. Know other folks who died from it. I just also support folks who don't want to take it. What made me bring it up is because I have been seeing folks who are family and friends almost recently come to blows about this. Even in me and my boys group chat it was heated. I'm just middle of the road.
