Yeah I figured the way they were set-up contributed to it. I think it was last year when TNSU had that weird tuba set-up. lol

Yeah last year Tsu was really in 4 different sections and I said the same thing that I said last night about the boom,"they about to have tempo issues."

True. but one thing SU financial problems are in good standing as a matter of fact they their new mellophones and Euphoniums just dont know when they are gonna put them to use..

I haven't watched much of anything on this game in depth but this thread is hilarious
 
Both bands did good in my opinion. I like the direction the Boom went this game outside of the fieldshow (Little know he wrong for that darn James Brown theme and dance routine lol. I did like the drill though and the JSU77 which is new and different). If not for the tempo issues of the percussion being 2 miles away in the stands I think things would have been alot better for us.

As far as TnSt, they have gotten a little more SWACish which I like. Just didn't care for alot of the arrangements and stuff they played but they still sounded decent nontheless. The Boom did outplay them on a bunch of tunes but because of tempo issues it makes it seem otherwise.

Overall it was a great showing and I always love the JSU vs TnSt match up.

Good job both bands.

Always to me one of the better battles of the year!! I really enjoyed them both as well!
 
Honestly I like the power and some of the musicality from the boom but The field show was not as expected. I bragged all August to my Memphis relatives and they was like what happened . Jsu arrangements are also not reconizable as they should and could be. I notice my cousins who are female recognizing 95% of TnSU songs but asked me 65% of the time what was JSU plying. I see a lot of good things but also a lot of immaturity in leadership as expected this his littles first year but overall u see more good things.
 
Playing loud is not a musical skill, NOR does it constitute a win... I agree with you, but unfortunately today's generation thinks this way.. over blowing the other band is all SU and JSU care about.

All hype and look at this shat...unbalanced ass band (just like last year, I couldn't even make out what the hell JSU was playing, no melody, just loudness, shat was terrible)...loud ass sound with no direction...smh

As of today, yall not even the 2nd best sounding band in the SWAC, (just loud for no reason) I got PV and Alcorn over yall..

Oh don't let SU shat on yall come Saturday...yall better make it some kind of battle, the way things going now, yall took a step back

I'm disappointed smh..but I told yall, you cornballs living off the name and hype, but I'ma put a end to that shat...

Lets REALLY be honest here. This JSU's first game, first outing under the direction of DOC little, and limitations in their dancers and numbers present at the game and on the field. First of all for those saying jsu show was boring... yal were the same one's saying that jsu shows are redundant and the same ole same ole. Little changed some formations, concert formations, tiger run on, and hell even the jsu logo with the founding year and its not enough for the nay sayers. Whelp, the show was maybe a place holder for what's coming next week to a certain band... just wait on it. I love Little's approach to the stands... All last year yal were crying about how jsu just blast and plays only rap tunes.... now this year they gave you variety and back to that balanced 2013 sound and its nt enough. The tempo problems is a quick fix.... that stadium isn't made for large bands... all this ruckus means yal are scared cause though the boom had some flaws here and there and maybe didn't have the most memorable half time show.... They have no where to go but up from here and that's what the nay sayers hate.... hmmmm see you next week southern or whatever's left of southern after their bastard son Talladega blows them out hehehe. #LuvTheBoom

i agree with you on that man.. Im a jukebox fan but jsu sound good to me throughout the entire game..idk what everybody else was hearing..lol ps I highly doubt dega will blow SU out after what i heard from them last night but we will see.. lol

Cuz clearing sounding good and sounding the best are too different things..Alcorn and PV sounds better

Just folks on here looking for the attention they don't get at home. It is what it is lol. Boom sounds good to me and other musicians that actually know music lol. Half these people are just bandheads that probably wouldn't know what a music note is if SU didn't have it in one of their logos. Outside of the tempo problems, alot of people gave the Boom props on the sound and songs they played. The reason half these folks don't know what was played is because a lot of those songs came out before their parents were born lol. REAL music. Something this generation knows nothing about.
