The SCG could move up

Sperm you really need to do something about your issue of being a bottom feeder for so long.

There isn't a D1 conference in the world that plays a championship game immediately after the last game of the season. Common sense dictate better judgement.

All D1 conferences that have championship games have their games one week after the last week of the season. Only the dumb SWAC folks wait two and three weeks to have their championship game.

That's because the winner gets a bowl bid. In the SWAC, the winner and loser go home. Another reason we should go for the playoffs. At least you have a chance to keep playing.

Jesus Christ Styles...I gave you more credit then that. What's you point?

Did I not say immediately? Jesus freakin christ some of you and your need for approval is nauseating.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't approval sort of the point of all this? I mean, isn't that why we have rankings, and seedings and the like? Isn't that why coaches and kids compete hard to win? I've met one coach in my life who didn't want the approval of anyone.
His name? JAMES BELL.

With the SCG being played AFTER the FCS Championship (utterly ridiculous), it seems that the SWAC is fine with staying in their own little world. Yet, on the other hand, we get upset when we aren't respected out in the real world. Why is that?????

Apples....oranges.

Because Southern and Grambling don't care about the playoffs because they have the Classic and I can understand that from their financial standpoint. It doesn't help JSU a bit. The bamas don't care because they have never been anyway. Alabama State has the Turkey Day Classic, which makes them ineligible. So that leaves Jackson State and five others out in the cold. What else is new? I don't see the SWAC changing it. I don't see the Bayou Classic moving. So fans like me and you have to settle for a championship game that leads to nothing. It doesn't have to be that way
but this is the SWAC.
:smh:

Some have made a few comments that were similar including yours truly.

The SCG has all but killed the chance of SWAC schools to participate in the playoffs. Before the implementation of the game you had all schools eligible for an at-large bid except SU and Gram because of the BC. So it was still possible that if the SWAC champ during that time wasn't SU or Gram, you had a good chance for them to receive a bid. As it stands now, the only people eligible are schools other than SU, Gram, Bama St., and the participants in the SCG. So all that leaves is the Second place finisher in the East, and possibly the Second or maybe the Third place finisher in the West. That's hard as hell to receive an at-large.

It is possible for a SWAC school to get into the playoffs. But the probability is another thing.

Bludedog, you exposed your ignorance. The SEC played its championship game on DEC 1st. Did you know the last regular season game was Nov 24th?

DUMMY!

Oh I'm sorry, I would have assume some of you knew that the knew FBS format dictated that and that most of us knew we aren't in the SEC or a FBS team.

My bad for assuming some would use common sense. The point is after an entire season is played you don't want to go into post season immediately without giving these kids a chance to heal.

It's easy to be clueless in arkansas and talk that foolishness because your @ss don't have to be out there risking a higher chance of injury. But some of you are so screwed up in the head you'll said and dumb isht that comes to mind. Not to mention the fact it's the holiday season and people have to free up money and time to travel. But when you're not accustom to going you would know to take that into consideration.

BTW there's an eastern division school or two that might not care for to play the following week either.

Lou Holtz always told his players that the word ASSUME means you make an ASS out of U and ME!

You said D1, not me.

Those same D1 schools currently play 12 games and they are not worried about INJURY. Freeing up money? HA HA! I guess the 80K+ people who attend the other championship games are ALL MILLIONAIRES!

Face it, you have no vision! Leave it up to you, the SCG should be played one week after the PRO BOWL!:lmao:

I think the game should be moved up a week; however, I think the SCG is great for the conference. It gives something for the fans and players throughout the season. It allows us to have another nationally televised game.

We are the only (formerly Div 1-AA) conference with a championship game. Now, that the play-offs might expand, we have the possibility to have a team in the play-offs as well.

I think the attendance numbers prove the SCG is a good idea. The financial payout for the member schools may not be that great, but national exposure helps recruiting.

I don't know sperm, we all know that you're the genius and should be in the front office of the SWAC all everything you said ^^^^ applied to our fan base.

Now after you finish setting every thing up to send us to the next pinnacle of football supremacy don't forget you're not in division II anymore and that moving it up after the BC still won't get the SWAC an automatic bid.

The playoffs start the same day. :quiet:

...If any team has played well enough and happen to be ranked high enough at the end of the season, that team is as much eligible for the payoffs game as any other.

The only schools that eliminate themselves from this is *SU/SU and the teams that make the championship game...

With those two things being diametrically opposed...

...On top of that it looks like some of you have real poor understanding.
That statement seems to say that BLUEDOG is of real poor understanding.

By the way, all of the SWAC teams are part of the FCS.

Ahhh d..... I think you should have read the entire thread. You know that saying "all up in the kool-aide and don't even know the flavor" ?

Guess who that is right aout now.

...

A question for all involved in this particular discussion. What direction should the conference move toward. 1. move toward the playoff format and "prove" that our teams are as good or better than the other fcs teams? 2. Stay with the current format and serve individual schools personal wants and crown "our" champion?

I think for the foreseeable future (and I am talking about years) that the conference will keep its present format.

A national championship should always be the ultimate goal.
