a couple of things need to change.
I agree with styles that a national championship should always be the goal. being recognized as the best is what you play for.
currently because the swac doesn't have 12 teams the scg is considered a post-season game and eliminates the participants from playoff consideration. I think expansion needs to be apart of the plan.
It's undeniable when 40,000+ people show up for a FCS game outside in december your doing something right. the rest of fcs is looking a little red faced and wondering how the worst conference in fcs can out draw the championship game. you know their trying to figure out how they can translate the swac's sucess into something useful for themselves.
I do think the championship game needs to be moved up. not sure what blue dog is talking about. I believe all the fbs conferences play one week after the last game and the swac is the only FCS conference with the game. so the only model to follow is fbs. my only concern with moving the game is how will it affect attendance. many people might need that extra time to plan and get their finances right to make it to the game. if this is supposed to be some type of bowl game.. lol... then move it to new orleans where we can have more fun.
until they make the playoffs profitable for participants you have to say forget the playoffs. In the meantime we need to play and beat them, making the swacs absence from the playoffs a noticable void and making the playoffs a sham if the swac isn't there.
