UCLA beats Tennessee

USC kills Virginia.

California beat Michigan State

Arizona put 70 on Idaho.

To hell with the SEC, ACC, Big 12, and BigTen.

Michigan State and Idaho? Man come on.. Everyone knows USC carries that conference. Ill give you the win over Tennessee even though their QB never shouldve played a game past high school.

You ain't denying it either. It sure as hell aint the SEC.

kill yourself... UCLA won a HOME game on a missed field goal in OT and now the Pac 10 is the best conference?

Uhh...the folks who have been around here for a while know this is not my first time saying this. Hell, I am from the West Coast. I am biased. But the fact of the matter is that I am not the only one who has said this. Even Kirk Herbstreit has said this. :D

Kirk WHO??? The same person who said Clemson would kill Bama. You are going to one day learn Herbstreit and Lou Holtz dont really know ISH about current college football teams. How many times has Tubberville called out Lou Holtz lol.

Dude...the reference to Herbstreet was a joke.

But that damn Pac-10 is for real!

Well, I mean USC did put up 50 and 70 against SEC teams the last few years, but no one in the South wants to talk about that. Before that, they shut out Auburn (on the road). I bet if USC joined the SEC, they would run that conference for a decade.

Man, I really hope you are playing! The SEC is the best in the Nation! I agree USC is a beast but they too can be beat.

Thats true of USC(though they would have to prove it against LSU&Georgia) but that would make them the best team in the country and not neccessarily the best congerence. Would the rest of the Pac-10 stand up to the SEC? Cal, Oregon, Oregon St., UCLA(quality win over Tenn., but could've easily gone either way)etc... vs LSU, Florida, Georgia, Bama, Auburn, even Miss. St., etc...

USC has really raised the level of play in the PAC-10 during this decade, much like Florida raised the SEC's level during the 90s.

Dumbest statement I've heard in a long time. The SEC is by far, hands down the best conference dude. You base this after ONE week of play? Who has the last two BCS titles? Who owns the most BCS titles since 1999(first BCS title game), SEC, look at the bowl record for the last two years....SEC has the best bowl season record. Get real homie.

The SEC won the last two national titles because they lucked out and got to play The Ohio State University both times. :lmao:

Both leagues, the SEC and Pac 10 have really good teams at the top (Southern Cal, Arizona State and Oregon out west, LSU, Georgia, Florida, Auburn and apparently Alabama too), and both have their teams who had bad/brutal opening week performances like Mississippi State, Arkansas (don't care if they won, they had to come from behind against freaking Western Illinois), UThug, Washington and Washington State. It's way too early to proclaim one dominant over the other.

Very true Kendrick, but one or two games doesn't translate into best conference. People look at the score of a game here and there and say, "see, I told ya". You have to look at overall conference top to bottom. USC is tops of the Pac-10 and they ARE VERY GOOD! I like 'em. But as you go down the list......there's no way the Pac-10 could handle an SEC schedule.
Take Georgia for instance......let me see USC run this gauntlet unscaved.

September 13 at South Carolina 3:30 PM ET CBS Tickets

October 11 No. 18 Tennessee

October 25 at No. 7 LSU

Hey, that's the system unfortunately. Ohio State does suck. USC is GREAT....but the rest of the PAC 10......not even close. LSU KILLED Arizona state last season in Arizona. Good statment(in bold).

Man.
The SEC was 10 and 2 this week.
And if it was not for Tennessee's QB having happy feet in the pocket and turnover's, they would have been 11 and 1.
Remember #30 just dropping the ball on the way to the endzone last night?

Croom's bunch is killing him.:upset:

I think USC could easily beat South Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky. Heck, UCLA beat UT with their third string QB, backup running back and without their best WR. LSU does not have a QB that would make me think LSU could beat USC, plus they lost some key defensive players.

I think Bama would put up a fight, but lose in the end. I think the toughest game on that schedule would be Florida. I would like to see how the USC defense tries to contain Tim Tebow. That would be fun to watch.

The difference between USC and other programs is that you never see a major drop off in talent from year to year. It is almost like Pete clones the athletes. That is why I think USC would do well in the SEC.

I think they lose 2 or 3 out of that line up. The SEC is not like a Big 12 type conference....there's no gimmes. Now on paper, sure, you're right...they should beat the majority of those teams.....but when you run the SEC gauntlet...SOMEBODY WILL sneak up and bite you......probably more than once.

I honestly believe USC could lose one game on that schedule. They have too much talent to lose three times in a season. USC is a physical football team on both sides of the ball. That is why I think they can hang with teams in SEC.

Oh I agree they could hang, but I'm basically refuting the topic of this thread about the PAC 10 being the best overall conference. I think they'd lose to Florida,,,,,,,,Oh wow, I forgot about Georgia!!

USC would run through the top of the SEC pretty easily. Maybe Nick Saban and Alabama would give them a run. Keith Jackson said it best on Sat, the only time USC loses is when they get cocky and lose focus. The only team I've seen beat them straight up in recent memory was Oregon last year.

Also, USC vs Fla would probably be a blow-out, unless Florida's D really steps up. Tim Tebow isn't that difficult to contain - Michigan showed that last year.

Why are we even debating this? The SEC has proven time and time again that top to bottom they are the best conference in the country. Yes USC is a great team, but they are the only elite team in the PAC-10. Now, if they had to face the speed on both sides of the ball that the SEC has week in and week out, they too would struggle keeping their perfect record like most teams in the SEC.

The SEC has won more BCS bowl games, more BCS Titles, and have had more teams ranked at once than any other conference in the BCS era.

Pretty EASILY? Have you been watching football over the last 10 years? C'mon man. Alabama is not even at the top of the conference. Florida, Georgia, LSU,Auburn, Alabama.....there's no way USC goes through that undefeated.....with at least 2 or 3 of those being on the road in HOSTILE SEC stadiums.

Like I said before....USC is a dam good football team.....and they're the best of their conference. Remember, this is about overall conference. USC good very well compete and win the SEC but not easily. The other teams.....no chance.
