Listen up maggots! And that's an order!
The NCAA has readily-available attendance numbers for FBS, FCS, Division 2 and Division 3 from 2003-2018 — with no team breakdowns available for 2004.

For those 15 seasons, only four schools led FCS HBCUs in attendance: Southern six times, Jackson State five times, Florida A&M three times and North Carolina A&T once. Remember, the NCAA ranks school home game attendance by per game average, not total home attendance ...

I'll put up D2 stuff shortly.

Until everyone counts attendance the same exact way these numbers mean nothing..... you got some schools who guesstimate... some who go by turnstyle... others who use paid tickets.... some have classic games in attendance... others dont... etc.

Dude please. The eyes don't lie. JSU and southern will still lead in attendance regardless.

Journalist, does SU numbers include the Bayou Classic? Does JSU numbers iinclude the Capital City Classic? Does FAMU numbers count the Classic game with BCU?

I don’t think so. Grambling some years only show 3 home games, and there’s a year they had two home games. I believe the NCAA is counting “true” home games. I could be wrong though.

The Capital City “Classic” is a classic in name only. There’s no promoter and it’s at each school hame stadiums in alternating years.

You are correct by rule. Grambling cannot claim the Super Dome as a home game because it doesn't meet the NCAA 100 mile rule. S.U. has a 2nd home designation for the Super Dome and can claim home attendance numbers.

Undoubtedly, SU does not count the BC numbers. But I think it should. Without the classic numbers, you don't get a true count of what our attendance really is. If we were to count the Classic numbers, we would win the HBCU attendance title just about every year.

We used to count them. I think with the change of AD(s) we haven't been making it a priority. When Marino Casem was AD, he would never miss it.....

Hmmmm.... Thats interesting... I didn't know that rule.

Prime example.... Legion Field is less than 100 miles from both AAMU and Bama State but the MCC is never counted as a home game for either.

You can charge that to those AD(s) lack of knowledge and detail. One thing I liked about SWAC AD(s) back in the day is they wouldn't miss minor things like that. Actually, this is an old topic that we used to discuss on The SWAC Page back in the day. I remember when the NCAA used to make adjustment around mid year to include those numbers from the previous season to reflect S.U. BC Numbers (when we were the home team which is every other year).

You wouldn't win it every year because you're not the home team every year.
