Southern Football: Just What the Doctor Ordered!

Did somebody white tell you all of this? :lmao:

So what happned to the UCF offer?

Uh TP, everyone knows the Culpepper story. I was comparing how schools who initially offered him scholarships during his Jr year backed off when they thought Pep was not going to qualify. Only Central Florida kept in contact and left their schollie offer on the table. But Pep got his grades/test scores in order his Sr year and all the offers came back. But he said no because all those other schools didn't stay the course. Baker had an offer from LSU and others but they back off similar to what happened to Pep so when he got his stuff squared away, here come all the schools again. SU stayed the course with him the whole time. So he chose SU.

So yes somebody white said it. It was out there for everyone to see what happened. They did the same crap with Holiday. Until they found a way to get a gray shirt offer to him.

Did you even read his entire post? I believe he was referring to Culpepper.

Exactly. I don't know why TP didn't grasp that comparison. It is done a lot of the time with players. We ended up with Jarvis Landry's older brother who was all SWAC back in the mid 2000s because Colorado had all them issues going on and his parents were like nah, he aint going up there. Sometimes our schools are able to get some kids when the big schools drop the ball for whatever reason. But we have to keep recruiting said kid and let them know they can come to our schools even if they are being recruited by the bigger programs. You never know what might happen.

I can't complain on how Big Worm and his staff recruited this past year. They did a good job. Now we got to get some wins.

GR, your other favorite WR Lee Doss is suspended for the first quarter too. :smh:

LeeDoss aint no big deal. He didnt have 1000 yards last year and all SU has is a passing game. As mush as they are behind, he should have 1000 yards as the #2 rec espcially since they dont have a running game and the QB cant run. He's totally over rated...that #4 is better than him. Losing him for a quarter would be a blessing for SU.

This felt like 1998 in Baton Rouge all over again

PENALTY YARDAGE

15-133 5-66

guess who had more?

I don't know, maybe the undisciplined team that kept getting false starts and unsportsmanlike conduct penalties? :noidea:

it could have been double that if the officials had ever decided to call holding on #75.

None of that stuff, it was our undersized and slow defensive linemen!!!! Good game SU, you were the benefactor of the biggest choke of the year in the SWAC

No it took SU being down double digits before they opened the offense up. Nobody can check our WR's

I'm not gonna say anything about those alledged fumbles after our men was down or the fumble by su when he was on top of a player that we recovered without a whistle being blown or even the one in OT that we recovered. Them guys got some home cooking......

But it was a game to watch, the fans got their moneys worth......

We did help ya'll find a kicker, where has this guy been all year?

-#18 has been there. We need another PUNTER more than anything.

-Regarding blown calls...our last 2 TD's in regulation(and the 2Pt Conv) that was Pass Interference all the way. And we won't even discuss the holding calls ya'll got away with when #8 was doing all that scrambling.

-I saw fans leave midway in the 3rd quarter. I think this was when ya'll scored TD #5. Folks were saying " I had enough" and all sorts of other isht. Once we scored that TD in the final seconds of the 3rd, I knew this game was going down to the wire. One of my coworkers that sat next to me saw my fb status saying too bad they left. I stayed until after the 8th quarter was over

Or all that holding PV was doing...The blown pass interference calls....the blown delay of game call from snapping the ball while the ref was damn near still over it

We been watching bad calls all three games but I haven't seen a jag use that as a excuse for a L...yea we got bad calls...but we also played bad

I'm not using them as a excuse, just pointing them out which helped ya'll at critical times of the game.

No need for an excuse. Two high powered offenses met which I saw coming. I figured we'd have a bit more of a D after watching the TxSt. game. We blew it when we slowed down in the 3rd like the game was completely in hand. Anybody with sense could see the D was just barely holding ya'll if at all up to that point. We should have stayed on the gas to try to make sure the momentum couldn't swing. Dumb mistake on our coaching staff to me.

Good game SU.

EXACTLY our coach needs to quit being Marty Schottenheimer slowing down the damn game and the calls don't matter if your TEAM does what it is supposed to do, SU wanted it more, they absolutely deserved the win
