The LB core is already there minus Cooper who was a Sr. BTW, Pete gets burned by Ike and yall act like all our transfers have sucked. Actually besides Ike and Hayes. No transfer really came over to SU and started right away. Even Hayes didn't until people got hurt. Aint like Doug don't have any transfers on his roster. Isn't overated Octavious Bond your corner? But Bonds was the starting strong safety at UK. He had more than 10 tackles too! Even then, he only became a starter after another player was injured.

There's nothing wrong with taking in Transfers. It's the nature of the business nowdays. But to take a guy who only made 5 tackles in 10 game! If I was the dude and the reporter asked me how many tackles I had...trust me I wouldn't have said 5.

This dude will not start. Unlike our RB position when all the returning backs were Props from the year before, our Linebackers all have playing experience. Only Cooper is missing from that group. If any player that they are high on that is a newcomer, it will be Don Expose the JC transfer. From what I hear, he's supposed to make some noise. Poor Ms State dude may not even get in the rotation.

Stop comparing all situations to the Ike deal. Hell look how Hayes turned out. Now name one other player besides Ike that Pete handed the starting job to? Hayes didn't play until mid season in 99 and even ole Nemesis Bates had to pay dues as a KR his first year in the fold. Man you'll take one instance and turn it into an all the time event.


BTW, how's that DL looking at JSU. See a few people will be missing this year.

This topic is NOT about us landing a great athlete. I hope the kid is good, but he may turn out to be trash. My motto about transfers is "there has to be something wrong with him." My point is, as much as we need another good LB, we didnt make an ass out of ourselves for this kid when we knew he was interested. "hey, you can come if you want to, I might have an extra uniform by then"

We have integrity, morals, and class...something most schools in the conference and country dont have. Your school absolutely falls into the "moraless" category and of course that is illustrated by your most recent debacles. Yall cheat....we dont....Yall kiss ass....we dont....yall brag on transfers all spring....we dont. There is just something so refreshing about having pride and respecting the kids that have been there the whole time. Everybody cant do that....so dont start trying now.

The rest of the schools in this conference can learn something from JSU. Yall make me sick putting transfers in the news everytime the make a phone call expressing interest. What does that say about the talent level of the players in the SWAC if you go hog wild over a kid that is tranferring from a school that is 1-11? The least you can do is wait for the dude to break a sweat before you go bragging on him everytime someone sticks a mic to your ashy lips.

How can we expect anyone to respect us and our players, when we dont respect ourselves. I expect the folks at Bama not to have any self esteem(cause yall are still dizzy from that Evers thing), but the people at Grambling really turn my stomach with this crap. (Southern cant help themselves.....we all no they NEVER had morals and self respect)

I remember when Miss. State signed him out of Chattanooga(sp?). I knew that was a blown scholly right then. MTSU was his only other I-A offer. He may be "a-ight" in the SWAC, at best. Jo-Jo Scott will be better than him. It don't matter whether Joe Lee Dunn recruited him, cuz after that class MSU football went downhill, immediately.

GR, this is where you are wrong. Every home game that I have attended, myself along with my LB ZNSPR8502 make a point to go on the field and talk to some of the players. So WTF are you talking about? Actually I even wish the opponents well. Shook Totten's hand after our game last year. 99 huh, well I guess you haven't shook a hand after a game since 96 based on your logic.

Unlike you GR, I am more than a SU sports supporter. I do see the big picture. You would be shocked and awed at some of the things I have been involved with my alma mater. While we may be just getting around to sports facilities. Some non significant state of the art buildings have been constructed on our campus. But nevermind all they are used for is to help educate our students. Not really important in your eyes. We have port -0- potties is all you see. Remember we had to get cable so we wouldn't lose any more students like Bandfan err BP. :lmao:

Oh yeah when JC Lewis hits the field we'll see if how your boys measure up. The bad thing for your phenoms is that they are already behind ours in development. ~snicker~

Putting all your season's lowly hopes and dreams on the shoulders of a true freshman, huh? Is it that bad in the BR? That's the most significant statement. If you are the dependent on your freshmen so much, unlike us, maybe it's good that they came in the summer-- the few that qualified, at least. LET THE "RETURN TO MEDIOCRITY TOUR" BEGIN!!!:lmao:

Reading is fundamental. I didn't say if he would hit the field this year. I said when. Again he is ahead of your phenom is what I was saying and BTW last time a real True Freshman phenom hit the field in the SWAC he led his team to 4 consecutive wins against JSU and broke a few records along the way.

Also seems to me you had a few that didn't qualify either. So don't go there. I guess you had most of yours qualify since you only had about 8 total recruits.

Hopes and history don't count in the standings. But you know he'll be starting this year- yall have no choice if you want to crack .500 this year. So it's a matter of how he'll stack up against us. Meanwhile, McLaurin chilled this summer and will spend this year redshirting and enjoying the college life. The last time JSU put a RSF on the field he whooped SU and was well on his way to 4 consecutive wins against them.

Get real....teams lose players to eligibility every year. Isht happens but SU loses half their damn class over the summer. Reading IS fundemental. Is Petey Pablo reading transcripts and test scores over there?
