COVID protocols will likely be in effect for most collegiate and younger athletes well into 2022, simply because that target demographic is likely not to receive the a vaccine until late 2021, early 2022. So if there is a fear of athletes/staff contracting COVID now, they will probably need to make the same argument to opt out of the Fall 2021 season. Think that's going to happen?
The bottom line is that if Alcorn is truly concerned about COVID and the safety of football players and staff, then be consistent and cancel ALL Spring '21 sports activities --- including training and meetings. To do otherwise is disingenuous.
