Pretty much all of the P5 are going to get rid of the divisions. At this point you want to get as many of your best teams into playoff spots as possible. Pretty sure the Big 10 is going to do the same.

The SWAC needs to take notes it’s a disgrace JSU, Grambling, and SU are not permanent opponents. Go to 9 conference games and 3 permanent opponents that will solve the non conference conference games.

Not all FCS seasons are 12 games. That will limit that to two nonconference dates most seasons

But there are some on this board that says only lazy, and incompetent athletic directors do that. Was it this past football season that Grambling and Jackson State rotated off each other schedule? But, they scheduled each other anyway? There were some on this board who acted as if both of them should have been kicked out of the SWAC for doing that. LOL!!

No, we've done the 9 conference game opponents before and it doesn't work. They then switched to a 7 game conference schedule and it wasn't enough games. The happy medium is 8 games with the way the conference is set up, it should work perfectly but you still got those that don't want to play outside the conference schools.

In my opinion there should be no permanent cross division foes. You can roll off for 2 years every 12 years or 1 year every 6 years if the schedule is set up right.

Under New SEC Ruling, Expect Longhorns And Aggies To Play In 2024

With "secondary rivalries" expected to be on display and 2024, expect the Aggies and Longhorns to meet on the gridiron.

Southeastern Conference commissioner Greg Sankey said Thursday that the league will honor primary and secondary rivalries under the new 16-team format for the 2024 season. Best believe that Texas will be facing a longtime foe as the conference's newest member.

SEC schools voted to keep the eight-game schedule for the impending 2024 season with the arrivals and Texas and Oklahoma during league meetings this past week in Destin, Fla. Conversations are bound to eventually translate to a nine-game format in time, but the schools believed right now this was the best course of action with the expansion of the College Football Playoff from four to 12 teams.
