The move is pending approval of A&T’s board of trustees, which meets Friday morning. If that approval happens, A&T plans to hold a news conference at 10 a.m. Friday to formally announce the change of leagues, according to a source inside the university who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Could this be a sign of the end of the Meac or will they raid the SWAC for additional members?

The MEAC is done..... BCU selling fish plates.... SCSU is on life support.... Hampton and Savannah already gone... nobody cares about the rest of the schools with exception of FAMU which will probably leave also.

Not from what I have been reading. From what I have been reading, not only have they been a proponent of it, they have been boasting about the cash infusion and increase in enrollment numbers partially attributable to the CB.

I blame Alcorn ... they beat Alcorn so many times including the embarrassing 2019 blowout in the Celebration Bowl they don't care for it anymore.

The MEAC is actually a better conference than the SWAC on all levels outside football attendance/revenue ... I'm not sure why schools are jumping ship. Sad and confusing

None of the SWAC teams can afford to move to the MEAC. The MEAC will put every SWAC school further in the red due to more extensive travel and lower attendance (especially in football).

I agree about SWAC moving to the MEAC - it does not make financial sense.

FAMU may follow NCAT as well, who knows.
