You are absolutely right....

People attend these mega churches so they can say "I attend such and such chruch"....

That's one of our black people MAIN problem... they worried too much about image....Opposed to substance..

CT in here going off. I agree with TP though. Unless, yall going back and reading the original copy of the bible then you are studying someone's translation.

I don't understand this kind of stuff. Man have yall seen the kind of women who attends this church? I mean I went one time and was like a dog in heat. My tongue was one the floor. Ole Billy Boy was like a brick walking around that joint. I mean fine on top of fine. I don't get it though, how could a man not like what a woman has? I mean that thang she got is just wonderful. I like to open it up, look at, smell it, lick it, stick it, the texture of it, the feel of it, the moisture of it, the juices that come out of it. Man I don't get it, how could a man not like that thang, how?

Despite this Pastor being married, women of his congregation throw themselves at him and some would even LOVE to let him have it on the pulpit to be honest with you. I'm serious, just because of WHO HE IS!

And before anyone asks, yes, all my life I have been a Christian and will always be; I'm just one with an independent mind and does not need someone to translate the bible for me.

Mane, w/o reading this thread this morning.. I was just having the same Convo... I concur.. Most members of mega churches are there just because its a mega church...... When really they aint HAVIN CHU'CH!!!!!

This is just another showing of Taboo behavior that Many Black folk tend to dismiss....and look as such...:popcorn:

Instead of discussing these issues and facing them.... But Black Folk and Religion is gone be the reason they Bust Hell Wide Open.......:shame:

II Tim says the bible is subject to no personal interpretation. So either you or the book is lying. The reason we see different interpretations is that folks dont follow the two witness rule.

But doesnt the bible say the word would go forth in every mans language and Christ would not return until it had done so? If so and you cant depend on the interpretation of language, then the prophecy of the return of Christ is faulty in nature.

Right "personal". You are talking about in an extreme case like some Children of the Corn type stuff. Most of this stuff is open to sensible interpretation. That is what a good pastor will do...bring something out of that scripture. And if you don't know what a person meant when they wrote it, you HAVE to interpret it. We go too far with stuff sometimes like arguing over the word revere/reverend. These are why some people get turned off by church...other than they just wanna sin and act like they don't know.

Unless you read the original copy, then that scripture was somebody's interpretation as well.

Of course this goes back to what happened to the black community. You got crack houses in the neighborhodd now instead of churches. Black folk need air, a good choir, and all kinds of extras. Also, they can go to a mega church and not pay tithes and no one will ever know... :lol:

What it does say is VERY CLOSE to what you said.

Matt 24:14 KJV
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

This is why groups like Wycliffe Bible Translators are so key. They work hard to be VERY ACCURATE in their translations.

Reaching the whole world with the gospel is our job. Knowing that we have achieved the goal is God's responsibility.
