Just now had time to watch the first episode. I am hooked. This is everything that I look for in a good series (Action, Suspense, Black People in Power, Good Music, Simply Unapologetically Black plus the Good Guy gets his woman).

My son hooked me up on this the other day and told me to check it out. I started last night and I'm now 7 episodes in. I'm hooked on it will continue to finish it.

The second season of Luke Cage finally kicked off production this past week in New York, and with it, the first batch of set photos have made their way online — and it appears Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) and Luke Cage (Mike Colter) are still very much together in season two.

For fans hopeful of seeing Cage reunite with Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) to fall more in line with the comics, these images are sure to be a bit frustrating. However, given their chemistry on screen, seeing Claire return for (hopefully) another extended appearance in Luke Cage is sure to please many fans, as well.

Dawson’s Claire Temple has quickly become a fan-favorite over the years, showing up in each individual series acting as the Nick Fury of the Netflix Marvel Universe. However, while serving an important purpose in each series, it wasn’t until the first season of Luke Cage where we truly got to explore Claire’s character. Along with taking the time to develop the relationship with Claire and Cage, the series also managed to bring in her mother, Soledad Temple, played by the fantastic Sonia Braga. Whatever Claire’s role is in season two, it’s safe to say her and Cage are still getting coffee together and don’t appear to be stopping anytime soon.

‘Luke Cage’ Has Nabbed Lucy Liu To Direct Its Season 2 Premiere

Turns out there’s a reason Lucy Liu was spotted on the set of “Luke Cage” in Harlem ― she’s directing the Season 2 premiere.

“What a thrill to collaborate with Marvel and Netflix, two industry titans, who paint our world with inspiring stories and beguiling characters,” the actress said in a statement provided to BuzzFeed, which was first to report the story. The news was also shared on the official “Luke Cage” Twitter page.

The series has been filming through the summer. While details are scarce, Luke and Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) reportedly continue their romance, while the villainous Shades (Theo Rossi) has said he’ll be back, too.

‘Luke Cage’ Season 2: What Exactly Is ‘The Incident’?

One of the key elements linking together Marvel’s Netflix series “Luke Cage” to the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe is one key event that everyone knows about, but nobody talks about in detail.

That event is known as The Incident, and it informs a ton of elements in the MCU. It popped up in “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” and has been mentioned repeatedly in “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones” and “The Defenders.” Everybody in the MCU knows about it and remembers it, and it serves as the beginning point for a lot of stories about Marvel characters — it’s sort of the point that everyone realized superheroes were a real thing.

So what is The Incident? Put simply, it’s the climax of “The Avengers” that took place in New York City.

Specifically, The Incident is the moment when Loki (Tom Holland) opened a portal over New York that allowed alien invaders known as Chitauri to invade. The Avengers showed up to fight the invaders in a massive battle that wrecked huge portions of New York City. The Battle of New York, as the event was called, left much of New York in ruins and alien wreckage all over the place.

I'll most definitely binge watch season 2 this weekend. As I rewatched the previous seasons this week, there was so much I enjoyed again but I noticed that the Cornell character was really my favorite villain. Smooth but powerful and calculating. His doings could actually be justified which to me make a really good villain. I really wished they could have kept him around longer.
 
Well, overall I enjoyed Season 2 slightly better than Season 1 or at least the consistency in the plots. I still think Cornell was the coolest villain but I got mad respect for "The Bushmaster." It was also cool how another one of Cage's enemies got more wicked and sinister throughout the episodes. I totally was not expecting that.....

If there is a season 3, I hope we see more of Tilda. She was a cute thing but I liked how we started to see some of the callousness in her that came from her blood relatives. The Stokes family though...sheesh...!!!
