JSU: New Women's BBall Coach

Non you are very delusional right now nd arent making any sense...very delusional...i am sorry i want success n classroom nd on the field...Coaches job is to win games and teachers job is to teach class period...we have dropped the opportunity for a good hire with a lady who has only won in JV high school in Memphis..the athletic dept needs to be cleaned out starting with TFO....

Sent from my MB865 using Tapatalk 2

The only entities in the athletic department that need(ed) to be cleaned out were the men's/women's basketball coach positions and compliance.

Its funny how yall aren't/weren't complaining about Braddy who is largely responsible for the incompetence that was going on with our athletic department. All of that APR negligence occurred under his watch but as long as he was bringing in SWAC Commissioner's Cups, it was all good. Am I wrong? Keep it real.

The bottom line is that every sport has NCAA academic standards which are about to raised. I applaud both the president and AD for bringing in someone who has a proven track record of graduating student-athletes.

I didn't hear this when Bell was the coach. We were good academically but The wins never came with him as coach. Based on her track record they won't with Dixon either.

You didn't hear about it under B*ll because the APR was relatively new. It did not become prevalent until the last few years.

Give Dixon a chance to prove herself in regards to her success on the court.

Well knowing what you know now, would u rehire Bell? This new chick is as big a loser as he is.

Knowing what we know now, I would not have re-hired B*ll. He could not coach and had horrible relations with the alumni and fans. Knowing what we know now, I would have gotten rid of Braddy when we first hired Comegy and replaced Braddy with someone with competence of APR and with connections to the NCAA. Give Dixon a chance to prove herself at JSU. Many people didn't want to give President Meyers a chance because of her situation at Norfolk State yet look at what she has done/plans to do for "Our Dear Old College Home".

Don't compare the 2. It's a lot easier to measure a basketball coach than a president. Dixon will be measured by wins and losses. She couldn't win at her other 2 stops, what makes you think she'll win here? A losing coach is a losing coach.

I guess we will have to wait and see what transpires.

Hell no....but I see now this is the type attitude thats around my Dear Old College home....We are giving folks with suspect resume chances at JSU..WTF..

CB, only 2 people applied for the position. Come on, man.

So why not keep the interim coach? We are giving a less than stellar 41-72 coach a chance to fail at JSU. If u cant find a the person u want then hire a search committee to do it for u and keep the position open..I am tired of this Nego-ism like buddy buddy system thats going on in JSU Athletics now..jus wait til Comegy is fired and wait to see who TFO hires u will see Dumbbell Part 2 and that will affect our attendance which will affect finances which affects the infrastructure of JSU...but u dont get it TFO doesnt have a clue what she doing shes been fired from 2 schools already.

How can u hire anyone with such a bad resume? Sorry if I want JSU to hire the best candidate instead of GIVING EVERYONE a chance and cut with the APR crap the womens graduation rate and APR has been fine for years...no problems at all...Loosing games affects the athletic dept period no matter what sport..TEACHERS job is to teach students, A Coach job is to win games and make sure players are eligible to play...:smh:

I believe this is a really decent hire. Its amazing how the same people that couldn't wait to push Braddy out the store are standing in line to complain about TheGreatViv. Viv is doing an excellent job. As a matter of fact I'm writing her a check right now.

And how did the Bell sympathizer manage to work Bells name into this conversation? Get over it my man. Bell a horrible coach on the field PERIOD ...Let it go.

You JACKSONSTATEUNIVERSITY folks ain't happy unless you are miserable

Her college winning percentage is less than 40%. How in the heck is that a good hire? She's no better than the lady we just got rid of. In fact she's worse.

The press release about her makes no mention of her record at Lane or UMES. In fact they went out of their way to avoid specific mention of her record. That should tell you something.

Another thing for all you politically correct academians ....

A coach that doesn't win is a bad coach. I don't give a damn about their APR record. Anybody can give a scholarship to a good student who doesn't belong on the division 1 level. You can easily get your ass beat by 20 every night a then brag on your 1000 APR score. The key is to balance the 2. If you can't win you might be the best person in the world with the best intentions but you are a horrible coach.

She had a nice high-school record.
Bell only won 10%of his games prior to coming to MightyJSU
This is great
Lets go Viv
Lets go Surina

This wreaks right here ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^. Hiring just because w/out any semblance of a thought put into it. :smh:

The truth will come out soon though. Coop is @ sTu, so you know she'll do well by year#2/#3. Thankfully Toyelle hasn't allowed any type of fall-off (too much) for PVAMU so PV will be a player in the ladies bracket. Southern will continually be a player and I expect Gram to return to the mix shortly. :read: Not sure about this particular hire, until she plays sTu where I'm sure she'll coach her ass off. lol
