I mentioned her name as the new coach in a thread a few weeks back.

She was the coach at UMES when Vivian Fuller was AD there.....

I also remember watching her play at Valley back in the day......

You knoooooow.... momma says when you have nothing nice to say don't say anything so I am going to step out of this thread.

Here is a clip from her Bio......

Prior to coming to UMES, Coach Dixon served as the head assistant coach at Arkansas State University, where she aided the Lady Indians to their best start in school history, and their first ever Top 25 national ranking. Coach Dixon also had an influential impact at Texas Southern University, where she was an assistant coach. During her brief stay, she helped guide TSU to their best finish in over a decade, both in the SWAC and overall.

Before entering into the realm of collegiate athletics, Coach Dixon was a successful coach for ten seasons in Memphis, TN at Germantown Middle School. Dixon won eight district and six county championships, and accomplished a run of five undefeated seasons, along with an overall record of 165-29 while coaching at Germantown.

While in transition from coaching middle school to college, Dixon had an opportunity to both play and coach two seasons of professional basketball with the WBA Memphis Blues. Dixon gained much recognition and experience coaching the Blues, however she gained ultimate respect while playing on the court. Dixon was known as a crafty and intelligent player with a shrewd understanding of the game. Her ability to see the court as well as her drive and determination, made her one of the best point guards in the league, as well as a natural leader amongst her teammates. She has also worked as a coach and instructor at numerous camps, including the 1998 WNBA Utah Starzz's free-agent camp, and the 2000 WNBA Houston Comets' training camp.

Success and education, athletics, and leadership are trademarks of Dixon. At Rosedale High School in Rosedale, Miss., Dixon captained both the basketball and track teams. Aside form her athletic accomplishments, Coach Dixon is proudest of her academic achievements. As a star player at Mississippi Valley State University, she graduated with honors, and then moved on to obtain her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Mississippi.

Why do all of our schools keep going the buddy buddy hook up? Are our folks really that stupid? or do they really just don't care if we ever have good programs?

This is all I am saying. I want the best. We can be friends all day, but I refuse to risk my success over a hook up. She may come in and do wonders with the program but this is too obvious. Who were the other candidates? I refuse to believe this was the best candidate.

All I've heard from the press conference is that she's a Great Academic recruiter.
Ain't nobody said nothing about her "winning"
