Just think how much it would help the BC get the recongnition it so rightful deserve if the game is played in B'ham. B'ham would even sponsor a parade to make the BC a true classic.

Keep All Events in LOUISIANA!!!!

I'm posting it again because some of you are beginning to PISS ME the FUGG OFF....READ dammit....read.....

-----------------------------------

What state is in need of the most money right now? Louisiana
What state are the two schools from? Louisiana
Which states have more representation at the classic? Louisiana

It is really beginning to bother me that some of you people want this game or even examining playing this game in other states. Do you all realize how much money the City of New Orleans makes off these events? Do you realize this relief is going to damn near bankrupt every citizen of New Orleans? I am sickened by remarks about Texas because some of you are too damn cheap to pay to come to Shreveport.

It is Independence Stadium. There are Bowl Games played there. New Orleans will be honored to have their games played there. It also sickens me that the Saints would rather play in Texas. Where is the pride of Louisiana? Where is our self preservation? I tell you where it is...in some fools pocket who has no care for the State of Louisiana. All we have done on the SWACPage concerning sports is the issue of potentially moving football games. What the FUGG!!!! We need to tighten and push the powers that be to have the ahtletic events that would have taken place in New Orleans moved or played in LOUISIANA!!!! PERIOD!!!!

We sit back and talk about the comfort of the Dome....the pleasures of New Orleans....Bourban Street....restaurants....Hotel availability....etc....yet....before this storm that was not a concern of anyone on this page. People were shopping for airline tickets to the Classic...saving up their money....now most of us are wrapped up in our personal shell feeling sorry for ourselves and not doing a damn thing but thinking about endless hopelessness. Get up....

Southern University Posters.....push the President to have the game in Shreveport!!!! Southern Band Members....Push for the game to be in Shreveport.....

Grambling State University Posters....push Preseident Judson to have the game in Shreveport....those of you who know Spears on a personal tip....push hum for Shreveport....make this Bayou Classic the biggest and best one of all. Louisiana needs the morale booster right now!!!!

Let's push the SAINTS to stay in Louisiana....morale in mothersucker right now!!!

This is worst than September 11th People!!!! We don't know how many people are dead. New Orleans has turned in to a wasteland....people are rapping women and sadly children....people are shooting at people who are trying to leave New Orleans. My cousin is a physician and volunteering at the Astro Dome and he is wearing his Xavier University T-Shirt and has treated so many people from Gerk Town and it brought him to tears this morning at 3 a.m. that he called me and we talked for 20 minutes until he had to run and give a man CPR who was dying.

People we are struggling!!!! The State of Louisiaana needs the money!!!! We need the morale!!!! This is affecting the entire state. My mom lives in Grambling...some 4 hours from New Orleans....she called and asked me and my sister if she could give away all the sheets, towels, and spare mattresses....we proudly said yes. She sat down with a woman who taught mentally retarded kids....and the lady just cried....eventually my mother begin to cry because she taugt mentally retarded kids for 30 years and it hit home.

People let's do a push to keep ALL Games in Louisiana and ask for the proceeds to go to the VICTIMS....not to the Saints....not to Grambling....not to LSU....not to Southern....not to anyone but those who really need it.

Sorry for the long email but I am emotional off this topic....I have a home....I can go back to Grambling to see my mother....there are people who don't have a home to return to....people who don't know where their relatives are...people who have nothing but what's in their hands....but we are too cheap to insure that money stays in the state to help with this event.

I digress.....

Re: Keep All Events in LOUISIANA!!!!

At this point...why not have it at either of the two schools and try to build up momentum for the classic next year.

Say it again DSN. I can't believe the poster who are from Louisiana, graduates of SU and Grambling, advocating this game be played anywhere other than Louisiana. If any state needs the revenue generated by this game, it is Louisiana.

Grambling is the home team this year so the game should be played in Shreveport or Grambling. To take this game out of Louisiana would be a real stupid move. Louisiana needs the revenue very badly do to the storm. Louisianians need to have some pride about the state and the two schools involved. The Bayou Classic is Louisiana breed and it needs to remain in Louisiana. It will be only temporary anyway until New Orleans is functioning again.

I see that Wild Turkey has you gobblin a bunch of bs. A parade makes it a true classic? In all actuality...the mcc is not even a true classic, let alone, worth mentioning. When you mention HBCU Classics, you will hear about the Bayou classic, Florida Classic and dare I say, the Labor Day classic.

the game is between to instate rival schools.. with that said what logical person would choose to have the game outside the state of LA. THats like having the Florida classic in Arkansas. I just doesnt make sense. We have venues that can house the game. Most noteably the Independence Stadium or Tiger stadium. I believe the game should be in shreveport, but thats just my opinon.

A game born in Louisiana, played between two Louisiana Schools has to stay in Louisiana. Shreveport is the best option. Nothing is going on up there to work around and the stadium can hold 60K.
Plus with an additional 10,000 seats can be brought in to bring seating to 70,000, it was done the year LSU played in the Independence Bowl...

Well, a lot of LA (southern) folks love to travel to Houston (and hate going to Shreveport) Both are about the same distance from BR. I can agree with leave it in the state, but I also see why some folks would say Houston. The game is just a small part of the Bayou Classic experience. A big part of it is the city you are going to. (New Orleans, Houston, Shreveport) now which one dosen't belong.

I hear what you are saying about having the game in Louisiana because of the schools and the state of Louisiana. I think what many people are thinking of is the fact that the Bayou Classic is a big event beyond the two schools. Let me explain, many people come to the classic because of what New Orleans has to offer.

I'm not sure other than the residents of Louisiana and alumni of both schools would be as interested in the Bayou Classic no matter where it is played other than New Orleans. Having said that, it would be better to have the game in Louisiana. Now if SU/GSU's goal is to have a big crowd and make money, it would need to be in a major city where the host city would try to capture some of the flavor of New Orleans. In addition, I know the dollars spent on hotels, restaurants, etc would not go to Louisiana, but the host city.

To be honest, I went to the Bayou Classic last year and had a great time. I was looking forward to go back this year. Now, that this disaster happened, I would only go to the game if it's played in Houston.

Where would this be?

I hate to tell you this frat, but you sound like a fool to even post such as that!

Frat... check ol' md for posting such bs stating that the BC would be a true classic if it had a parade.

That's like saying a hamburger is not a true hamburger if it doesn't have mustard on there.

Shame on these outsiders who have no true connection to the BC. I didn't attend GSU or SU, but I grew up on the classic. I'm a La. native and I have been to every BC since I was eight (20 in a row). The BC is a homecoming for Louisianians all over the country. They attend the game because they are already in town for the Thankgiving holiday. I tell you what if the game is played in ANY other state, I will not attend, nor will I view the classic the same ever again.

BR or Shreveport is the only option. IMO I think BR is a better location. Tiger Stadium holds 90,000. F what you heard but the classic will still be packed. BR population has doubled in a week. With BR being the capital of the state and now being the largest city I think it will be the best location.

Shaking My Head!!

I don't know if we are "shaking our head" for the same thing but when he said BR now being the largest city it stung me (although it is true).

I can't keep from wondering why the push to have the B.C. in Shreveport and I am from Shreveport and I would not recommend having the B.C in Shreveport and that is real!

Whatever, you can get your head knocked off in either place, but for you band fan, I know why you would never say Baton Rouge.
