If your spouse was unemployed for 6 months, would you give him the boot?

Now see K, that ain't for better or worst. That's called pimping. Play on player, play on. If you got a fool ride that fool.
How long does "worse" last?

One of my old co-worker's sister who also works for my company but in CA has a "husband" who QUIT, not lost, QUIT his job 4 years ago. He was a pharmaceutical representative in CA. He said he was tired of working and wanted to take off 6 months. While off he was supposed to get into real estate. He did in an east coast state only to go sell his EX-wife's house while he stayed with the EX-wife for a few weeks. Co-worker's sister is still married to him and it has been four years. He does get a little check from the National Guard. He says he is the husband and HE controls the money. He stays at home on the computer all day. He tells her when to go to church, when to spend the money SHE makes.

OH, she has two step-children which are his and live with them. She has two children from her ex-husband. The current, non-working husband said she can't buy for her two kids unless she buys for his...whilst he AINT working. The current, non-working husband said that her EX-husband can not send anything to his own kids unless she and current, non-working husband can buy the same thing for his two children also.

To top it off, he drives the newest vehicle while sitting at home with two junk vehicles in the yard and she has to drive another vehicle which is on its last legs. She has at least a 50 minute drive to her job.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah Lawd!

Everybody has their own limit....so I guess it must be alright with her that he has not worked in 4 years and she is struggling to make ends meet when they have to do things like repair the roof or get termite treament on the house, etc. She told him that he needs a job and this has gone on too long. He aint even trying to at least look for work...

I guess to each his/her own.

My x-wife left work for 4 straight years (took a leave of absence voluntarily). My household never missed a beat. We didn't live the lifestyle that required 2 salaries. We always lived off of mine solely and exclusively. :) Just so happened that I started a business or two during that timeframe that became somewhat profitable so we (actually I lol) acquired more when she was away from work rather than when she returned (mainly due to her spending habits after she returned :retard: but that's another story).

I understood that she would probably grow tired of being home all day w/ nothing to do outside of housework and caring for the young one. So, I really didn't mind giving her a break and working around the house too (cooking, going out to eat for dinner frequently, cleaning, et al)! I still took care of the yard, her vehicles, gave her $$$ to spend freely on whatever her heart desired, paid all bills about the crib, etc. That is... a man's job if you define it as such and that was the definition that I grew up with. :)

When you are smart with money like that, you can do that! Aint nothing wrong with it. It is always wise to live like there is only one salary even when there are two....What happens when/if one salary abruptly comes to an end. THERE WILL FOREVER BE a struggle.

Re: I have a question....

I held on, but I was one mad azz husband. Talk about resentment and evil thoughts. She was doing other "no money making" things to help others. Helped a whole lotta people. My house saw none of it. I don't know how we survived.

Been there, done that, and my tee-shirt shrunk while wearing it.

There is a difference! She has told her sister that she would leave if she could but her husband tells her what her vows say and how she would not be honoring them if she left. He holds the bible over her head!

PIMP or DIE! I guess!
:lmao:

We never missed a beat either. Lifestyle wasn't extravagant to begin with, and him being laid off didn't matter.

The devil is a LIAR.

Let me chime in since I've been through both. But both were casued by me. I moved twice to take promotions which forced my wife to quit her job twice. Both of which she loved. On the first move it took her 2 years and the second 9 months. We had to scale back but hey I took care of it. She's very independent and would and still will never take my advise when it comes to job hunting. My fault for thinking a college educated women could find a job relatively fast.

Then I was on the skids earlier this year and was at home on the computer each day but I also read the bible a lot, cooked, dropped and picked up the kids and did some house work. Why because that bible says that I'm the head of the household. I respect my wife's opinion and we make decisions together but at the end of the day my wife and my children are my responsibility. Fellas read proverbs and the good book in general God will guide you.

I was out of work from Jan til March and I was willing to work back at UPS slanging boxex because unemployment sucks. I'd would have worked at walmart , lowes any where to bring in something of value. Man I been working since I was 10 I don't know how to sit on my arse all day it's depressing.

The dude who hasn't worked in 4 years is a SAD dude really. Not on a high horse but man I've held down two jobs back in the day when I was single cause hey I like to kick it with a pocket full of my own money.

Sperm I like your comments. But I also know men should be men a get out and make it happen. No if ands or buts. I was making good money with bonus on my last job but if my kids go hundry or are without then that's on me and I got to do what I got to do. Pride goes out the window.

That he is, but he is real and some folks don't realize that. You gots to stay in the word or he will get you.

Proverbs or not I cannot sit at home watching kids all day and not getting paid... so I'd be out there looking daily (actually online mostly). Plus I'd load up on ref'ing football/baseball/basketball games to add some untaxed income.

I totally concur w/this statement...he has a fool and he knows it. If her dumb ass wants to put up w/that schitt, let her go right on.

That what' I said I cannot sit at home and watch stories all day. I just started blogging recently. Check the date I signed up here. I was sending out resume's left and right. I hate to sale anything but I almost took a job selling insurance. I was going Bananas sitting in the house. I would have worked at Fed Ex on the RAMP if they would have hired me. :emlaugh: :emlaugh:

I understand the statement, but I wasn't sure if you agreed with the guy holding the Bible over her head or not...I guess you probably don't...but wasn't sure.

Leviticus 19:11, 12

That's why you have to know the Word for YOURSELF, study for yourself and pray for your own understanding.
