Hoops - Week 2

I think our coaches are scared to go into white schools (this applies for basketball and football)... we try for the best players at the Black high schools. I have stated this before, we need some white coaches on our staffs (both football and basketball)... they know how to recruit both. Examples of white HEAD coaches in HBCUs.... The former coach at Hampton, FAMU's former coach Gillespie, Dave Robbins at Virginia Union (the best HBCU coach period), then look how Norfolk States head football coach turned their program around in 2 years. Our schools are afraid to go after a white coach.

I guess the current HBCU coaches have been turned off to a certain extent where they're not even attempting to go into the "suburban" predominant type schools and try anymore. I can ONLY imagine how predominant white coaches would treat them and/or give them a snub.

That's still no excuse for NOT attemtping to go after the most talented player that's available for a particular area.

I am in awe how the "larger" name-brand schools like ou, ut-austin, tx a&m, ok st, et al can go through the greater dallas/ft worthless metropolis and yank these OVERLY talented kids in a heart-beat. The ONLY question that I ask is if the HBCU coaches even attempted to put a "feeler" into the kid and inquire.

The ONLY thing wrong w/ failure is NOT trying. :|
