We don't have that <b>type</b> of talented coaching and athletes to pull off that sort of upset J-BR. lol

Some will come in here and TRY their best to downplay what I just said but truth be told, THIS conference, the SWAC, is OWNED OOC by the <b>Southland Conference</b>. Our performance in ALL sports OOC is DISMAL and downright SORRY and PUTRID. lol Blowout losses in BASKETBALL by 40+ points shows that we're not good. Period. :|

You cannot make a LIE out of history. But, being somewhat optimistic, who knows what tomorrow holds and I certainly don't have a defeatist attitude.

Yeah that to and we play like we are scared and I hate that. We have 5 players on the court just like they do so why be scared???? :confused::confused:

Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. lol We're getting BEAT OOC SOLIDLY and CONSISTENTLY. Period.

That many turnovers will spell doom for any squad unless you're playing a very untalented opponent.

Seems like some "gel" issues are @ hand. :read:

Glad someone is a realist around here -- the SLC is not that great traditionally of a conference in most sports -- yet the dominance of the conference over the SWAC across the board (the closest contested sport is basketball typically -- SLC has 4-1 edge this year thus far) has been proven time and time again...even in baseball, a sport where I figured it would be closer, where the SLC wins about 90% of the games...

In all actuality, I think these conferences need to work together more so they have more games between the two instead of the two conferences having as many sub-Div I games or "guarantee games". I think we're seeing some more work between the schools of each conference. Hopefully, continued play against each other develops rivalries in some sports and eventually, a more balanced W-L record between the two...

OK the SWAC will not be in the play-in game this year. The SWAC stock is rising.
 
I saw Tech Friday...they have no depth with 9 players and are average at best....UAPV should've won that one and good job

as for the Southland...we should blow them out in basketball mainly as they aren't a hoops conference and we hold our own in track....we just got to invest in this those programs

but in sports like baseball, softball, tennis, etc...they have no trouble recruiting white kids which gives them a larger talent pool to choose from.....if I'm recruiting a borderline I-A white kid who can play right away from suburban Dalls, he'll go with Sam Houston or Jackson state first?

I think our coaches are scared to go into white schools (this applies for basketball and football)... we try for the best players at the Black high schools. I have stated this before, we need some white coaches on our staffs (both football and basketball)... they know how to recruit both. Examples of white HEAD coaches in HBCUs.... The former coach at Hampton, FAMU's former coach Gillespie, Dave Robbins at Virginia Union (the best HBCU coach period), then look how Norfolk States head football coach turned their program around in 2 years. Our schools are afraid to go after a white coach.

That might be because some of the ole school alumni and supporters are not ready for a White coach.
