SU gives up 8 runs in the 9th inning after beimg up 4-1 going into top of 9th....falls 9-5 to UIC

Sad to see this 2nd game against UIC end in such a disappointing fashion. Jackson will certainly work to improve the overall pitching in the coming years. Can't pull your starter who gives you 7 innings of 1-run baseball, only to allow the bull pen to give up 8 runs. Other than a few early season mistakes, Jackson seems to have the team focused. Hopefully we can rebound and leave this weekend 2-2.

This was our 3rd game in 2 days, tough for teams on our level early in the season
 
The Devilettes are participating in a tourney at USM. They have played #24 McNeese (12-6), #10 Baylor (14-1) and #9 Bama (11-1) in consecutive games. Brutal

I changed the channel when SU had the bases loaded up 4-1...the guy that came out the pen was throwing, at his hardest 76-78 mph

BCU lost two in a row to Mercer, including blowing a 5-2 lead and giving up a walk-off on a wild pitch in Game 2.

If they lost all those players, all the more southern shouldn't have allowed eight runs in the ninth inning. That's inexcusable.
You have more excuses on this board than anyone who posts.

I agree. And Coastal Carolina win it all. Baseball is the one sport that I think we can compete in better than the other sports.

When has UIC won anything? Fact of the matter is you can't give up that many runs in the ninth inning after only three games and claim that your team is tired. Your bullpen can't be that tired after three games. If they are, then southern's in for another long season.
