FAMU to the SWAC....

Good question! Pine Bluff is a city of approximately 60,000 about an hour's drive south of Little Rock, the state's capital and largest city. Only been there once, but I can say unequivocally that the food is outstanding. Other than that, there is not much else I can tell you

Pine Bluff might be smaller than that. The City is more like 45,000, but it is a component of the Little Rock, Arkansas metro area, which has a metro population close to1 million. Also, Pine Bluff is 76% Black. Not much hang around Pine Bluff due to that huge U.S. arsenal just northwest of the city. I remembered spending the night there on a military convoy when I was in a Army Reserve Unit in Baton Rouge.. The trains passing through had to be doing somewhere between 60 to 80 mph none stop. When we checked in, they made sure that the exact same number of us checked out the next day. I've always wondered how well contained are those chemicals on that base.

In the SWAC's introductory welcome letter welcoming FAMU to the SWAC, appearing on the SWAC website, in the 9th paragraph, it states that "FAMU has won 15 Black College Football National Championships, including last year." That is an absolute LIE! Eveyone knows it! NCAT defeated Alcorn for the HBCU Football Championship last year. And I don't understand why the SWAC would allow such an erroneous statement to appear in an official SWAC release. The president of AAMU wrote that bull, and it is absolutely not true. If he's not in tune with athletics, he probably should not be the chair of the SWAC Council of Presidents and Chancellors.
Does it really matter now anyway? Since FAMU is joining the SWAC he basically gave the conference a +1 in bragging rights by not acknowledging A&T's CB victory. Kinda low-key schrewed if you ask me. How is it any different than the University of Alabama claiming 17 college football national championships when the AP didn't always pick them? A media outlet selected FAMU just the same. It's a mythical title anyway.

Well what is there to do in Arkansas? Lol

Pine Bluff is town of about 45,000 and about 80% black and they have had their challenges over the past decades, but it is moving in the right direction with the Go Forward project which is revamping downtown and encouraging small business plus the construction of the casino is adding exciting and growth.

Sad that the MEAC has to likely fold, but this should be a lesson in bad leadership.
