Re: Changes Coming To SWAC Schedule Cont'd

stag,
Those guys didn't play in a 10 team SWAC, with East and West Divisions

so, of course their games against SU and Gram counted. Just like their games against everybody else.

From 1989 to present time then MH.:goof:
WHEN DID THEY NOT COUNT..........................PLEASE.:goof:

BTW: I understand Bamma St had just moved up from D2, but those games pre-1989 STILL COUNTED.
So what's the big deal now.

MH, what you are saying is just dumb.

Live with the fact that JSU-SU-Alcorn-Grambling will play each other and NOT always count. :goof:

Re: Changes Coming To SWAC Schedule Cont'd

TP,

It's sad that you won't even correct stag on this one.

It's also sad you scurrrred to answer a question.

He said in the future they may not count.............2008 and beyond.
Read, comprehend, and understand instead of playing merry go round diversions.

I'm still asking you to tell me what year SU and Gram DID NOT COUNT for JSU.
You can put this to bed with a simple year, date, or newsclip of the records since you so sure.

Re: Changes Coming To SWAC Schedule Cont'd

damn, TP,
I thought you just use to play dumb.
:smh:

The PERFECT scenario is 2001, when the SWAC was playing under a 7 game format.
ASU played SU in the regular season. We lost. But that loss didn't count in the standings. We went to the SCG that year. Under the permanent system that we're discussing, ASU, A&M, or Valley could lose to Gram and SU and not have it count. JSU and Alcorn couldn't, since that game would always count.

sheesh, I really didn't think this was rocket science.
:retard:

So what you just said is what we been saying all along.:lmao:

Big DEAL.
SU and GRAM has alway's counted for JSU.....................We never Backdoor Championships.:lmao:

Thank you MH even though you really didn't answer the question.
Root canal couldn't be this bad. :lmao:

uuum, I followed what you were saying but JSU would never agree to that. Why should be take the tough games and give you Prairie View and Pine Bluff?? Not gonna happen cuz!!

Re: Changes Coming To SWAC Schedule Cont'd

stag,
Like I said, if you don't have the sense (and apparently, you don't) to see what I'm saying, I'm sure the light would go off the first year that JSU would be hurt by losses to permanent rivals SU and/or Gram, while we parlay wins over our permanent rivals into the SCG.
:lol::lol:

but if you like that set up, I LOVE it.
:lol::lol::lol:

TP,
I'm surprised at you mane. :(

MH, the PROBLEM is YOU are the ONLY one trying to give us that set up. In our setup, the games would not ALWAYS count.

TP,
Now you see.

stag was right bout a root canal

sheesh!!!!!

but I digress, why wouldn't JSU agree to that TP?
I mean, yall got to preserve those matchups.

Let's start e-mailing the SWAC office on this one.

I saw it from the beginning. We don't have to call the SWAC office because will be allowed to play each other and maintain the rivalries WITHOUT the games counting every year.

but TP didn't we establish that it was "less than smart" (for lack of better words) to schedule those games and not have them count. I'm sure you aint forgot the confusion from a couple of years ago when we did that.

So, to stop all that, you can have those important games. They'll just count.
:tup::tup:

If ya sced.........

It's about business....dollars, money, cash, doe, benjamins, plain and simple  . Why give up hundreds of thousands of dollars when we don't have too? That would be stupid.

Actually you have to and you will. The day and age of c**n thinking is OVER in the SWAC. Tell me this, can you not still make hundreds of thousands of dollars if you played the Texas School for the Blind in Jackson? If not, they WHY NOT?

Re: Changes Coming To SWAC Schedule Cont'd

MH, the PROBLEM is YOU are the ONLY one trying to give us that set up. In our setup, the games would not ALWAYS count.

um, no he's not. you SHOULD NOT be allowed to play a swac school that is not apart of your offical swac schedule. that's what should happen. play your division. play your one permanent rival, in jsu's case, southern, and you'll see grambling every 2 years. just suck that one up. everybody can't get everything they want. in fact no one is going to get everything they want.

and before someone says the swac office can't tell u who to schedule keep in mind the sec and acc offices don't allow them to play against other conference foes they aren't scheduled to play as a part of their conference schedule. so that argument is dismissed.

so we can cease all the talk about games counting and not counting. that's all garbage and it undermines the 7 game format. so you've got to go out and find 4 non-swac opponents. the sooner you accept that the sooner you can fill that 08 schedule. again b/f you talk about how's it's not a prob for your school and how ur just looking out for the little man (little school), just go a get 4 IAA and up opponents will ya and be quiet until you hold a trophy above your heads.

You don't know what JSU will do. You're just guessin as usual.

You got the nerve to ask me this question?! A pb alum?
Ask yourself the same question.
Tell me this, can pb make hundreds of thousands of dollars playin the Arkansas School for the Deaf?
Don't bother answering cause I already know.
If y'all can't sellout a SWAC game in a stadium of your size, how in the hell y'all gone sellout for the ASD?

Oh, so just because that's "law" in the sec, that's going to be law in the SWAC?
Yeah, right! Just wait and see.
We ain't the sec and don't go by their rules, ya got that?

Re: Changes Coming To SWAC Schedule Cont'd

Well I for one can not see the logic in two SWAC schools playing each other and having it NOT COUNT in the conference standings. Honestly it makes no sense to me, and I think if we allow that to happen we will continue to lose credibility with the rest of the NCAA.

We can all say "I don't give a damn what them white folks think". But we all know that we want the SWAC to be looked upon as a credible conference. That's the truth.

I agree, but we all know some our ADs refuse to conform to the way other conference's schedule. Some people on this board tend to forget that Jackson State makes money every other year on games against Southern and Grambling. We can replace the Southern game slot in 2008 with a home game in 2008 and another home game in 2009 when we would be traveling to Baton Rouge. Also we could replace an unprofitable road Texas Southern game in 2008 with a game against USM or another Division I-A team or another home game or classic and the same goes for an unprofitable road game against Pine Bluff. So the getting rid of the mandate could mean more money for us.

Like it was said earlier, it's going to force AD's to be creative and start earning that money.
