You should becasue it means money. Nobody's fans come to UAPB anyway so I guess to you, it wouldn't matter. Like I said, this would be the Texans and BAMAs problem because it would hit their budgets...therefore, NO ONE would vote for permanent rivals (and all would vote no for different reasons). It's simply a bad idea. You can have permanent rivals in the SEC because those teams sell out their stadiums regardless of the opponent.

You are right, nobody fans come to UAPB so we don't depend on it. So scratch the idea of permanent opponents and have 3 rotating opponents. Still, don't resort the the c**n thing and have two SWAC school play each other and it not be a conference game. That should only happen in a scrimmage or a playoff.

Even if we don't win the SCG, we'll have one EXCITING schedule. alcorn, su, grambling, tn st. (maybe famu, hampton, a&t, usm, etc.) Every game will be worth the price of admission.

They will be preserved BUT they are not going to make us permanent rivals which means that the games won't always count.

Also, for the record, I don't care if we play SU and GSU every year because JSU has options. I am just saying that it's GOING to work out where we WILL play them every year. sheesh.

I said that they should give us a pass and let us play but disallow all others the same benefit.. not that the games should count. That would not be fair. Again, you would be hard pressed to find years where SU and Grambling BOTH beat JSU. We are not Alabama State and AAMU.

...and again, I am against the teams playing but if they offer it, why turn it down? It benefits JSU. It does not benefit you. :lmao:

The scenario we're discussing is different than previous years because yall (and Alcorn)would be playing SU and Gram every year, and have it count in the standings. The other 3 teams in the East would play other teams from the West and have it count.

Exactly, that is why we didn't go to Bham but AAMU did. They lost to SU, we beat SU and THEM and they went to Bham. That scenerio will happen quite often but I am not afraid when it happens. You will get the SAME scenerio MH....the difference is that you also have to PLAY JSU which makes it worse on you. JSU can NEVER play ALL of the Big 3 but YOU can....:lmao:

under the previous 7 game format, if you played those two and had it count, then it was just a matter of time before you would have played them and NOT have it count.

but under a permanent rival system (which we were discussing), that's not the case. You'll play them EVERY year and have it count. Other schools in the East may or may not play them.

And remember the SCG is only 8 years old.

Name the year those 2 games did not count for JSU.

Those guys didn't play in a 10 team SWAC, with East and West Divisions

so, of course their games against SU and Gram counted. Just like their games against everybody else.
