Can married men be friends with single ladies?

Any woman with sense will be helping you to help the ailling mother. However, when she is not ailing anymore....

To me, it is the HONORABLE thing to do.

Ok...mom is not sick... spouse just doesn't like her and doesn't want your mom in the house much...doesn't want you talking to her much...doesn't want you to go home to visit.

married men have better time than single men...they take more risks.....and the bad part single women knowingly let them take it as long they are getting something in return..

wish someone did a survey....what is the percentage of married men/single men in strip club attendance?

Now come on TBF you know some people live in denial.

you can't drop your boys due to marriage...if I put in 10 years with them they ain't going anywhere just because of a woman...now we may limit our actitivites but can't put them to the side so fast...

however....like I said earlier, married men have better time than single men...they take more risks.....and the bad part single women knowingly let them take it as long they are getting something in return..

You don't drop them. But you can't run with them if they are still single like you used too. Most of the time.......most clicks all get married one by one and then you do the couple thing. That has been my experience. But if your boys hung out at your crib all the time, they can't when you are married. Also they can't just drop by. Not to mention calling you at any time of the night unless of course it is an emergency. So you do have to taper the relationship some with the fellas. If they are your real friends they will understand.

LOL @ TBF and the married men have a better time.

That's so true. Most of these sisters will kill you if you wake them out of their sleep just to answer a phone.

The only person who knows whether or not they like the mother is the one you're accusing. Also, if there is jealous behavior by the spouse, it is the man's job to settle it. He run things, remember? There is more to it than she just doesn't like the mother. There is a cause, a problem, a root. Get to the bottom of it and squash it.

Sometimes SOME mother's are feeling Empty Nest (lonesome becaue all her babies are gone and she has nothing else to do) Syndrome and they find reasons to have the son home to fix this, fix that, do this, and do that. Be gentle with mom and be gentle with wifey. IF this is the case, Mama will ave to find her another life. Sometimes they aren't quite able to discern the beginning and ending of a new era. The era of raising the son and being in all his business is over. Now it is time to embrace a new daughter...

If there was a choice between my spouse & my mother - my spouse would ALWAYS come first - unless they willingly conceded for me to put my mom first - in a specific situation. Some people don't understand boundaries nor BALANCE. I know of a marriage breaking up right now because one party is 100% faithful (financially, timewise etc.) to the parent to the detriment of the spouse, but can't see it.
Matthew 19:5 - And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Fort you are smarter than I thought.
A sniffling azz momma’s boy has got to be in the top 10 worst things to be.

This is very Intelligent.

I agree. But what if the reason is unfounded? Mom reaches out and tries to be there for the spouse...but it just doesn't click. I am not talking about trying to get son to come home and do things... just call or visit every now and then...not every day... not every other day.

So which one should we obey? "Honor thy father and mother"? or the one about spouses? Are there circumstances where one could trump the other regardless of marital status?
I think the two go hand in hand (to a certain extent.) I will always honor my parents. If I am married though - I should put my spouse first and that does not in any way DIShonor my parent(s.) So, I guess if I'm married, the scripture about "cleaving" may cause me to "trump" my parents in terms of priority, but never in terms of HONOR. Really, the problem is not one of HONOR, but what do you do when mama gets her feeling hurt because baby did not JUMP at her request because of his/her obligation to their spouse. Again, a mature mother, understand that scripture and her place.

Sometimes hubby is wrong and sometimes wifey is wrong.

If a spouse just hates someone for no unfounded reason, either get them help for being evil or shake the dust from your feet where the PEACE of God does NOT abide. (What's that scripture, Fort?)

I think if people would be honest with their selves and realize what is most important to them Chemistry or Compatibility more marriages would be successful and issues like this want come up. Most people don’t realize that it’s a difference. That’s the problem.

The spouse is wrong (for not wanting the child to associate w/the parent) and the issue should be discussed thoroughly between the two with a solution reached that both can, at a minimum, agree to. You may not like your inlaws, but their still family and you will have to deal with them (to a certain extent.)

I might sound kinda superstitous here, but I think most women are given some kinda "YOUWANNAFUGGMYMANRADAR". I can't count the number of times I been out with my woman and some hefer's body language or mannerisms told on her "intentions" towards me.

My girl was like...."Does dis ho3 know I will put a box cutter on her azz?"

Women know Women, and they know when some broad is pushing up on her man. There are some women my girlfriend would let me get but neckit in front of, bu there are some she wouldn't want me dressed in a Friar Tuck shourd around.

They know the minute a broad is a friend or not, especially them Lousiana women. They can scratch a ho3 with a chicken's foot and can tell if they on the level or not.

:D

This scripture has really helped me.
Romans 12:18 - "If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men." Note that it didn't say that it would ALWAYS be possible, but as much as it depends on you - you should make the effort and if peace can't be achieved - move on.

:lmao: Funny but true. Women are smarter than men when it comes to things like this. Women know each other.

That is a good one...but I think this is the one I'm trying to recall....I will find the one...

Mark 6:11 (New International Version)
New International Version (NIV)

11And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave, as a testimony against them."

Great thread w/great dialogue...keep the scriptures coming, Fort.

Kema & CEE DOG, you make valid points.

Makaho, you shole iz right. :D

It's as simple as this....if you used to fuggg...then it's a no no...what do you have to say that's so important....if the person wanted your ARSE they would be married to you....

See people want their cake and eat it to....marriage should be renamed sacrifice but there is a limit. We all have skirted around an issue of....if you hit one time...you can hit again...there's just a new angle. The issue is Kenn...this dude told his wife about you in his past and now...like a normal person she is like LLEH naw byach you need keep your distance. I don't anyone who's comforable with being around someone who has seen all parts of their lovers body. Furthermore people ain't really here play no games.

What you have to understand is that dude is married and if you are truly his friend...you would not press the issue with him....if your friendship with him is that serious....then the question remains....Why aren't you with him? Ahhhhhhh...but the answer may be....I didn't like him like that...but....do you because if you didn't this wouldn't be on your mind.
