Alcorn Narrows Head Football Coach Down to 3


I still say this is a good hire... There's a lot of underlooked talent in those small rural north la towns and also Mississippi. Melvin knows how to recruit star guys and complement them with talented ex-walkons and partial scholarship/partial Pell kids who provide depth and hustle. Sometimes a lot of those kids gravitate to full scholarship as starters. The guy with the patience and mindest to make all that work can win lots of ball games. Imagine 45 guys on full and the other 18 expanded to 36 partials. That's a 81 man roster...almost FBS size.

Melvin knows how to build a roster... let's see how things work out for him in Lorman. I really do think he's gonna win the East. Comegy can't handle a gunslinger!
 
Congratulations to Coach Spears! This is good for Alcorn.....not so much for us.....*sighs*.......oh well...

We got the head coach position down, next thing we need to take care of is the AD spot. We have the worst AD of all time.

Man she probably didn't even show up for the Press Conference today. Ross should have taken her to Michigan with him.

Spears will have some of the same staff that was together at Grambling. Roach will be the DC. Vyron Brown will be the OC. Why would Asberry leave a HC job to be a Coordinator??? Some people have said Spears needs to hire Richardson for his DC. Some of the same people were about Richardson at Southern??? He was His own DC Since 2003. He gave Coaches the title but He called his own defenses. MikeBigg and others have stated that time and time again. Now Him and spears would be a Great Combination? Funny fickle fans. Never a dull moment on this board.

IMO, Pete would be good to have as a Head Coach or Asst Head Coach ONLY! Not telling anyone what to do, but a good "fit" for Coach Richardson would be Alabama State as the Asst HC to Barlow.

I agree. Should have left with Ross...had an opportunity to go to bigger school with bigger budget, didn't want to far from baton rouge, bad move...she is done. Contract or not imo
