Not a huge trumpet section, but huge everywhere else. Good size trumpet section though.

They had more trumpets in camp. Guess some got zipped. I knew about the excessive 32 tubas but from what I seen trumpfunk looks about 45-49 strong. Not a bad number but they’ll have to give me more power this season. Bones were solid. Welcome back b tones been awhile since they been as strong as what I heard last night. Melos sound like they in the pocket more this season than obviously what they had been the last two seasons. WT gone be fighting for cuts. The book this year is going to be insane.

What do you think will be the size of WT this year?
As it stands they have 17 snares 12 tenors 12 symbols and 12 base drums .... after game to game cuts I expect maybe 12 snares , 8 tenors , 6 base drums , and 8 symbols too be a base that’ll be in the travel band

Hey! This clip may be wayyyy out of place but I just stumbled across it and because I'm a fan of the Percussion Section I had to post it! It's from Thee JSU Band Camp this past June. I gotta tip my cap to the young lady with the red snare on the far left! She got chops!

The young lady has skills! She reminds me of myself working chopsticks eating Chinese food. ;)

The MEAC-SWAC Challenge wouldn’t be the same without the famed marching bands. Come see the number 1 ranked band in the MEAC, Bethune-Cookman, take on the number 1 ranked band in the SWAC, Jackson State, here in Atlanta at the MEAC-SWAC Challenge.

The Battle of the Bands will be an exciting half-time performance between Bethune-Cookman University Marching Wildcats and the Jackson State University Sonic Boom of the South. After the game, they will square off and highlight their best sounds during the 5th Quarter.

My first time hearing BCU in person and I can say they sound good but those old ass songs and arrangements gotta go. Wells holding them back . Them boys got some sound

That’s always been Cookman’s problem..they have an amazing sound, but they’re boring as hell.

They must have played “Lets Go” & “Big Ballin” 50 times.

I know JSU was bored as hell sitting across them lol. Cookman’s bones and trumpets were scared to play back at JSU smh.

And Cookman had the driest halftime show I’ve ever seen. Idk what the hell was up with their song selection in the 5th quarter. Straight up high school ish!

Bethune Sleepy had the nerve to flex that 1 season send off netflix show smh..... boom was sending all game long and bcu tubas was lowkey slaw than I am used too. Boom sound balanced this year trumpfunk starting to be heard a lil better too. Nobody touching jsu tubas this year nobody....
