And then somehow this turned into whether it should be a black or LGBT story (it's both) which inspired this

I have been thinking the same thought but didn't say anything.

If its indeed a lie his career may be over.....the gays will turn on him. SMH
 
I was going off on the "other" people who were saying they think it's a lie but now that I see some of "us" on here saying it.......maybe not so far fetched???

It could be. It just sounds suspicous. I find the no footage part strange.

Pop there were a lot of things that did not add up as you originally thought. Some got caught napping while you were thinking. At this point Smollett has to come forward with more if he is to be believed. Knowing what I know, the investigators would not be suspicious of his story unless his account of things have not remained consistent after interviews subsequent to his initial complaint.
 



So we're really going to believe the same Chicago Police Department that lied about, and tried to cover up, the murder of a black teenage boy?

Like him not mentioning the “MAGA” remarks to the cops in his initial report? That’s what I find fishy. But I find it hard to believe that he’d make all this up. We all know he’s gay so there’s nothing really to lie about.......unless this possibly involves a criminal coverup?
 

Two suspects arrested in connection with attack on 'Empire' star Jussie Smollett


Two men have been arrested in connection with an attack reported by "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett, the Chicago Police Department said Friday.
The men arrested were the same men that police previously said were being viewed as "potential suspects," according to Tom Ahern, Chicago police communications deputy director.

The men, who police said were arrested Wednesday, have not been charged.
Earlier Friday, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said two Nigerian brothers were being treated as "potential suspects" and that detectives had "probable cause that they may have been involved in an alleged crime."

Police did not say at that time precisely what the brothers were accused of or what the alleged crime might have been.
