TOLD YALLThey did it. They showed 2 guys on a surveillance camera.
Yep. It ain't just a case of a rich person paying himself out of a charge. These were FELONY charges. Can't do community service and pay fines for that.I believe is deeper than "they did it"...... The Mayor is saying that the whole thing is "Not on the Level and a White Wash".......
Just my opinion: I think they were some high profile people that were about to be "outed" if this went to trial...
So case is closed and "sealed".....
"The Jussie Smollett case is sealed and wiped from the record. Like it never happened. The about-face regarding the prosecution of the “Empire” TV star has stunned everyone, including the Chicago PD. Smollett pays no fines."

He may have had some info on corruption within the prosecutor's office. Remember his family was already close to the D.A. before the case. When have you ever heard of a black man getting 16 felony charges dropped with no questions asked....
I could be wrong......but I believe the call was made from someone out of DC......
You can't get felonies dropped and the case seal without a person with power making a call....

He didn't accept a PLEA DEAL though. Charges were DROPPED. Not deferred adjudication. That $10K is a drop in the bucket for him. Probably 1/10th of what his lawyers would have charged him for a trial. You are incorrect. The decision to pursue charges and finalize a plea is based on the prosecutor. I just posted a thread in small talk where a young man could face 6-30 years and they negotiated a plea for 5 years probation. The same exact charge that I had in which my attorney’s said that the law inhibited them from negotiating a plea. In short it showed that my attorneys were incompetent and were afraid to actually fight.
This issue is about money whether people want to admit it or not. There are innocent people right now in Cook County Jail because they can not afford the bail. Throughout the years of criminal justice you have had white persons with money able to negotiate pleas that poor black or brown person could not. This is a case of turning the glove inside out with the person now being black and wealthy.
Furthermore, by sealing the case people will never know. The other issue is he forfeited his bond which was $10k. Who does that if they are innocent?
In short the rich can get away with anything no matter what color they are.
I don't care how the Jessie case ended. Plea deal, no plea deal, jail time, no jail time, or whatever. My issue is the CPD and the mayor were silent on the Laquan McDonald case or any other where cop got off for killing a Black man or Black boy, even though circumstantial pointed towards his guilt.

Regardless....as much hoopla that was caused people deserve to know exactly what the Grand Jury had. When you go to a Grand Jury they convene to examine the evidence on whether charges should be brought forth....hell they said it should by a jury. Then the prosecutors drop the charges.
I call this a case of the rich and/or famous.
He isn't rich or famous enough to make 16 charges evaporate like this.
Hey is a famous homosexual who is an actor. Nuff said.

Because the black homosexual community has a long and rich history of justice in America?
He ain’t that well known enough to beat the rap of the Chicago Police Department.
If that were the case it never would have gone to a grand jury!! LOLThe gays got power....yall must be living under a rock.
Man this dude's shit stuff went through Grand Jury.....LOL....mannnnnnnnnnnn I bet the gays got together and made some phone calls to make this go away. Some of you all take stuff at face value too much....these the gays we talking about. LOL

No fed charges currently. They're looking into it but I doubt they charge him.If I am not mistaken.....there are still some federal charges out there.....so it may not quite be over...
