Floyd Mayweather Can't Read.

There's a difference between not being able to read well out loud and being illiterate. Reading words off a page out loud only tell u so much. I've known plenty of people who can read well out loud but have no clue when it comes to comprehension, etc. Just saying...Mayweather has been able to do what few boxers can do - create his own brand and own his own product. He can't be too dumb. Contrast him with Manny Pacqiou who has major money issues and is beholden to Bob Arum.

Great Point. I think Floyd is too good of a business man to not know how to read. If Floyd aint know how to read. he would of gotten ****ed by some of the people in his circle. He prolly can read that good but i bet he can comprehend as well as anyone.

I know a dude who can play dominoes like a MOFO!!! But ask him to take score and see what happens...dude starts shaking....sweating....uptight.... It is a sight to see.

Anybody ever consider that maybe Mayweather struggles to read because he's spent most of his life getting punched in the head?
Floyd RARELY gets punched in the head. That ain't the reason. It ain't like he's slurring his words like "punch drunk" fighters do. If he can't read, it's on him.

After watching that video posted by jag4life, Money ain't got no reading problem. But if 50 Cent says it, it must be true.

Um, I don't know how much you folks know about business, but um, if you are lucky enough to get your company to become a empire, you don't control it anymore. Once i grows and you get investors or a board, they control you and the company. I know yall proud of your degrees, but the reality of life is most of the billionaires and the mega millionaires in this country don't have a college degree or great education. Now I will say that most of the black millionaires in this country do have a education and they go to church.

Since this thread was started, I‘ve been trying to figure out how Floyd Mayweather’s reading abilities impacts my quality of life.

. . .still have not found it. . .

Black folks need to be honest, many of our fore fathers couldn't read or write, yet they were more successful then half of today's college educated blacks.

Very true. My grandfather only had an elementary level education; yet he was a successful business man with properties and owned a fleet of buses before he died.

While he's still making 90mil per year you can't tell if he's being wise or not, or if people around him are stealing from him or not. When boxing ends & money stops, those things will come to the light.

I wonder how many folks with degrees have been ripped off form brokers and investors? DO we need to go down the list of "Bernie" Madoff who got people who can read and write? I mean seriously, many of you can't even do your own taxes. Gee get real.

Thank You. Madoff didn't con Pookie and Ray Ray. He made a fool out of Doctors, Lawyers, Wall Street Bankers, etc. Those folks are highly educated.

If Mayweather loses his millions, it won't be because he got ripped off by advisors. Its because he gambles and spends like crazy.

True. Take a poll to see how many doctors, lawyers, etc retire rich vs broke. Now take another poll to see how many athletes retire rich vs broke. No comparison.

Athletes loosing all their money is the norm with a few exceptions. Real businessmen loosing all their money & becoming poor is rare EVEN is they were ripped off at some point. I've heard Mayweather spends $$$ on liabilities like there's no tomorrow so him being broke one day is not impossible.

You have to look at what percentage of his money is being spent on those "liabilities". Are those "liabilities" owned by him or by "Mayweather Promotions, LLC"? How much of the costs of those "liabilities" is he writing off annually? Will Mayweather Promotions continue to promote fights after he retires?

Tyson consulted with Warren Buffett? Doubt that.
"Consulted with Warren..."? Lol Naw man, he came took some pictures and left; does it a lot with celebs. Doubt we'll ever see a Buffett & FM business deal together, but I guess Floyd has officially placed him on "the money team" Not hating though, hopefully Floyd is smart with his money.

Warren Buffett is investing in a new friendship.

The billionaire stopped by the gym to say hello to Floyd Mayweather and according to Mayweather’s social media account is now a proud member of “The Money Team.”

“I had a great meeting with the $66.9 billion dollar man, Mr. Warren Buffett,” he wrote on Instagram. “We talked about how we could turn a $100 million of my assets to $1 billion. Mr. Warren Buffett is the original founder of The Money Team, he’s just one of my billionaire buddies.”

So the fact that Floyd said

Yes it's completely ignored. That's Buffett being Buffett. He has several popular short videos on youtube about turning $40 into millions. He talks about investing ideas in interviews every chance he gets. He's a businessman and that's all he talks about.

So if he gave FM some advice about money (like spending less on strippers, gambling, bentleys for girlfriends) or how one could turn 100mil into 1bil, that's just him talking about what he always talks about, to everyone. Again, those 2 will not likely have any business dealings together. When FM declared "warren's now on the money team" that should tell you right there the meeting was not serious.

Okay man. I guess all the athletes who consult him are just B.S.ing also.

Well one things for sure, FM & other athletes are definitely taking his advice. Let's see if the 100mil turns into 1bil since he was seriously consulted on how to do it (in between sparring rds)...
