Countdown to Season 4: Game of Thrones

I'm still on book 4. In terms of storyline I am so far behind.

Same here; I started on it last summer but got a little behind on my reading because I had some major circumstances come up & had to get my girls settled in college. I picked back up on after Christmas. I was a little worried because it started out slow but it's still pretty good so far.

I'm so glad that little snot nosed bastard is dead, LOL!! He was in rare form last night, even for him.

:happydance:

HE SURE WAS! I was watching last night, thinking to myself, "This is an all-time, all new low, even for him!"

Weddings are a tough place to be on game of thrones. Just got back - caught up tonight......

The King is DEAD!!!

It certainly doesn't pay to be a bride and/or groom at a GOT wedding! This is the 2nd wedding tragedy.....but in Joffrey's case, it really wasn't a tragedy.

Things are about to take an interesting turn now.

Hell Yeah!!!!! I was so glad to see him dead. And now Tyrain is getting the blame. I just know he will turn on his family sooner or later. And I can't wait. Now the queen is running the show since she's married now. ~evil laugh~ haahaahaaahaahaaaaa!!!!

I ain't even worried about Tyrian Lannister. If there are only two live organisms left on that show when it ends, it'll be Tyrian Lannister and a cockroach!!! I want them to disclose that Joffrey was never a Barratheon.

That's what I love about Tyrion, like Tywin (his father) he always has a plan. Of all the Lannisters, Tyrion is the one that's the smartest and most clever.

It's already been disclosed that Joffrey (and his sister Marcella and brother Tomnen) are not Baratheon but are Lannisters. Before he was beheaded, Ned Stark sent a raven to Robert Barratheon's brothers (Renly and Stannis) that Joffrey, Marcella, and Tomnen are not Baratheon, which is why he (Ned) was killed. After Ned Stark was killed, Stannis sent ravens to all the lower kings and noble houses. Robb Stark knew this too, and after his victory against Tywin Lannister, Robb captured Jaime and confronted him about Joffrey's true parentage.

I actually think that the Father Lannister was behind Joff's death. If anything he he hates is someone he ultimately can't control. Joff lacked the control of Cersi. The cunning of Tyrion, and the skill of Jamie(but Jamie was very obedient to their father also) His elimination of Joff and raising Tomnen gives him a good foothold of the position of the King. He still is the king's hand and will wield actual power.

I think he is going to play the trial as Sansa being behind the deaths and bribe the other judges to let Tyrion go. He gets to keep all of his kids that are obedient, Tyrion, Jamie, and Cersi and he gets rid of the only person who was an actual threat to his power which was the King Joffrey. As a bonus he now has Sansa as a fugitive that can be killed on sight.

Tywin could control Joffrey. Truth be told, Joffrey was just as scared & intimidated by Tywin as Cersei, Jaime, and Tyrion. Remember the 2 scenes where 1) Joffrey was practically dismissed by Tywin Lannister, who told him to go to bed, and 2) when Joffrey was sitting on the Iron Throne; he tried to belittle his grandfather by telling him as king, he shouldn't have to walk to Tywin's council room to attend meetings. Tywin proceeded to walk right up to the Iron Throne and told Joffrey "We could arrange it for you to be carried"!

While Cersei & Jaime may be scared of Tywin, Tyrion is not. Intimidated, yes, but not afraid of him. He's the only Lannister sibling that stands up to him; he may not get what he wants from his father, but he will stand up to him.

How the hell do you rape your sister (Jamie and Cersi)? Damn!

In the book, it was consensual though. :shame:

In the books, it explained how incest was a common practice in the Lannister clan. Had something to do with maintaining what they saw as noble purity.

The Targaryen House was notorious for incestuous relationships. That's one reason why Aerys II was called the Mad King; over time insanity (due to inbreeding) was a trait among some of the Targaryens. Aerys II (Viserys and Daenerys' father) was one of them. Aerys was so insane, he used to torture his own wife and would kill babies, thinking they'd grow to conspire against him. That's one reason why Robert Baratheon took his throne.

Tywin Lannister is the only one from House Lannister that married a relative; Joanna was his cousin. Tywin was once bethrothed to another woman, but she was kidnapped and killed. Joanna knew Cersei and Jaime had an incestuous relationship (it was mentioned in the books during a conversation between Cersei and Jaime). Their mother tried to keep them apart by moving their bedrooms on opposite sides of Casterly Rock (Lannister home). She died before she could reveal this to Tywin, which is why he (Tywin) is ignorant to how much his grandchildren look like their uncle. Other than that, the Lannister bloodline has no inbreeding. Tywin's siblings married from other houses.

Lady Olenna Tyrell is a BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD chick!

Lady Olenna Tyrell's best quote of the night....“The following morning, Luthor never made it down the stairs to propose to my sister because he couldn’t bloody walk. And when he could, the only thing he’d wanted was what I’d given him the night before. I was good. I was very, very good."

Arya got her first kill. She was smiling from ear to ear.

I can already tell that Oberyn Martell is going to be fun to watch. He hates the Lannisters.

Remember during the first season, when Arya was taking her sword lessons with her instructor Syrio, 2 men came and ordered Arya to come with them, saying that Ned had sent for her. But Syrio noticed they were Lannister men and them asked why would Ned Stark send Lannister men for his daughter. Syrio then told Arya to go find her father; he held off the Lannister guards while Arya ran. She ran into one of the secret darkway and hid and then escaped by climbing out a window. She ended up at the stables and saw that her father had their things ready to go back to Winterfell. When a stable boy came out, he recognized her and said that Cersei had people out looking for her (Arya) and that she'd be a nice reward. When he tried to grab her, Arya killed him with Needle.

When she was with the Hound, after Robb and Catelyn were murdered, they came upon some guards that in on the Red Wedding massacre. When she heard one of them making fun of her mother, Arya walked over to them and asked if she could share their fire; she said she had money and offered the coin that Jaqen H'gar gave her. When he went to take it, Arya killed him.

The man at the Inn where she & the Hound went was the man that had killed her friend while she was with Gendry; he was the crippled boy. That's why Arya was happy when she killed him; he was one of the names she chanted every night before she went to sleep.
