SWAC Announces 2012 Preseason All-Conference Team

BIRMINGHAM - The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced the 2012 Preseason All-Conference football team on Monday at the annual Media Day event at the Birmingham Marriott.

Grambling State running back Dawarence Roberts was chosen as the preseason Offensive Player of the Year, while Jackson State defensive lineman Joseph LeBeau was tabbed preseason Defensive Player of the Year.

Dont even get mentioned for SWAC honors.


Im sure someone from SU or Grambling have been placed on the list instead
of the good players. It happens every year. How is it that bad players from
bad teams get All Conference honors?

Never can take stock into Pre-Season Rankings....they really dont mean isht..

Uh GR, how can you complain when that list is dotted with a bunch of JSU players. SU don't have anyone on the first team and only two players on the second team. Chris Browne the OL you like and Virgil Williams. Also the last time I checked. Gram won the SWAC last year and predicted to do it again. So how can they be called a garbage team? If they are garbage. What does that say about the rest of the conference. LOL.

Alabama State and AAMU are only getting the benefit of the doubt becasue the JSU QB situation is not settled.

SMH @ TP. What does it matter what SU supporters say? GR will say SU will win 2 games every year. Even before Pete left, he was saying we would barely win 4 or 5 games. Don't know why you need to even ask him that question. He can't tell you why JSU will win the SWAC or even SWAC East vs Bama State or AAMU. All he knows is Stump is SU's coach. That's going to be his answer.

and for the umpteenth time, AAMU won't beat JSU. We have a good team coming back and some nice options at QB. You better hope we get upset by Alabama State but we all know they won't beat us three times in a row.
