Bama calls out Boise State

Yall REALLY hate Bama..... Bama would beat the shit out of Boise State. bottom line. Boise struggled with a sorry Va Tech team. Ingram, Julio, and Richardson would have a field day. Boise State aint seen that many fast iggas on defense coming at them.

sidenote.... I was watchin football all weekend.. Bama may be the "Blackest" D1 team in the nation.

Dude you're out of your mind. On a neutral field I would not bet against Boise St vs ANYBODY. Julio is subpar because his QB is subpar. Saban never has great QB's. Boise St beat an Adrian Peterson led Oklahoma. NONE of Bama's RB's are faster or stronger than he is.

Once again I would rather you just say you dont like Saban or Bama than come with this tomfoolery. Bama aint no Va Tech. Hell James Madison beat Va Tech..... didnt Bama beat Florida (defending national champs, beat qb possibly in football) on a neutral field.... didnt Bama kick Texas ass last year on a neutral field?

Didn't Utah beat Bama?

Didn't Boise St hold Adrian Peterson to 77 yards and beat Oklahoma? Tell me who on Bama's team can compare to Adrian Peterson??? That Oklahoma team's offense was better than ANY Nick Saban coached offense. Didn't Boise beat Oregon (Pac-10 Champs) last year? Pretty much the same Oregon team that's running through everybody this year? Didn't they beat TCU last year? Pretty much the same #5 ranked TCU team this year? Oregon St? You must be a Boise St hater. I'm not even a fan of theirs but I gotta give props where they're due.

I was in Baton Rouge during the whole Saban craze and he's a great coach but I doubt very seriously that he would be able to take a team with a recruiting class that is not top 50 and do what Peterson is doing at Boise St.

You naming all of these accomoplishments... mine is much easier... DIDNT BAMA WIN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP LAST YEAR? Isnt Bama ranked #1 in the nation this year? Who has more national championships than Alabama? How long as Adrian Peterson been in the league? What bearing does that have on THIS year?

You bringing up a Tulane game from Sabans 1st year at Alabama with Shula's recruits..ok 2 years later what happenned? Who gives a damn what happenned against Utah 2 years ago? What does it have to do with THIS years team? You talk about what happenned against Utah 2 years ago... I talk about what happenned against Florida in the Ga Dome last year and against Texas in California

Right!! :lol::lol:

Didn't Tulane hold a Nick Saban coached Bama team to 172 total yards?

then just a couple years later ...

I thought you were better than this Psycho.... bragging about a game when a school was on probation 3 years ago with a 1st year coach.

Teams I think could beat Boise ST. on a neutral field:
Bama
Ohio State
Florida
South Carolina
TCU
Michigan (Shoelaces by himself)
Arkansas
Oregon
LSU(possibly, fast defense...slow coach:retard:)

Beating #10 VaTech aint looking so hot since VaTech lost to JMU. This is 1 of the reasons rankings aren't so important until late October.

lol Im glad someone besides me and CJ in here has some sense. I dont know WHAT these dudes been smoking but it must be from Cali. LMAO @ Nobody wants to see Boise on a neutral field.

LMAO... who the hell that already gets an automatic BCS bid DOES want to go play AT Boise State other than the likes of crap teams like Oregon State? What does it benefit them to lose a home game to go play them at THEIR stadium when there's NO benefit for anyone other than Boise? Using this logic it makes sense as to why so many schools are in the red considering MONEY comes FIRST. Why do no SOCON or CAA teams WANT to go play any SWAC schools at THEIR stadium? They gain NOTHING from it at all.

And if you notice they just chose to ignore this lol

Wait, so what happened two and three years ago doesn't matter, but what happened last year does?

As for the whole Boise debate, if the Big 12 ever decides they want a title game again, and adds Boise State and someone else (perhaps BYU?) to make a Northern Division again, look out. Imagine what Peterson could do with a top 30 recruiting class? They have done a great job in the middle of nowhere, give them a spot in a league with an automatic BCS spot, and they might be able to turn themselves into a power program for a long, long time.

In terms of who could beat Boise this year, it's a short list, IMO. Alabama, Florida (if they keep improving every week), Ohio State, Oregon, and perhaps Arizona, LSU, Arkansas (if Mallett isn't throwing to the wrong team), Oklahoma, Nebraska and Iowa. Nobody from the ACC or Big East would stand a chance. Michigan's defense would let Boise score about 60, so Boise wins 60-53. :)

Boise beat TCU last season on a netural field with pretty much the exact same team, minus Kyle Wilson, so I say Boise would beat them again.

You bring up Bama being ranked No. 1 and winning the national title. All that is true.

However, you fail to acknowledge that Boise State has finished undefeated 4 times in the last 5 years, but were denied the opportunity to play for a national title due to the BCS system.

If Bama had finished undefeated 4 times in five years, you know good and well they would not have been restricted from participating in the BCS National Championship Game, considering the system heavily favors BCS schools.

If Bama and Boise were to play in the Championship game at the end of this season, I don't think too many of us would pick Boise to win. I know I wouldn't. But given what has happened over the years, I can't say that I would be totally shocked if Boise beat 'em.

Wow this thread is just getting sad. Yes, I will give Boise the credit that they are due....they have a good program, but they can't complain about not making the title game. Last season they played a total of 1 ranked team prior to TCU in the Bowl game. This year they started the season off with #10 VaTech who went out and lost to an FCS school. By comparison, Bama played 4 ranked teams last year during the regular season, two of which were in the top 10. Then they finished the season by blowing out the #1 UF Gators and beating #2 Texas for the title. This year Bama has opened the season with 2 of their first 4 opponents being ranked. They follow that with two more ranked teams; #7 Florida and then #20 South Carolina. As of today if everything plays out as is, Bama has 6 ranked teams on their schedule this season.

I agree that on a neutral field BSU could hang with just about anyone, but their body of work gives them no argument in the BCS title chase. No primetime team will go to Boise because of logistics. A team like Alabama plays in a 100k+ stadium, and the have a great following. They are not against going to a smaller place, they just played at Duke whose stadium only holds 33K. However, logistically speaking it benefits Bama nothing to go to Boise. Idaho is a hard place to get into and out of, so that eliminates a lot of fans. Its not within driving distance, even further diminishing fan support. Then add that to Bama has nothing to prove or gain by going out there. If Boise wants to be taken seriously, then they need to be willing to go to challenge these guys either at neutral sites or at their place.

1. How is it Boise State's fault that Va. Tech is bad football team. Nobody knew Va. Tech would lose to an FCS school the following week. If you are going to give credit to Bama and all these other schools for beating ranked opponents, then one would have to give Boise credit for upending their ranked opponents no matter if that school or schools fall out of the Top 25. That is not Boise's fault. It is the fault of those who ranked the teams prior to the start of the regular season.

2. Why should Boise State have to jump through all these hoops just to play for a national title? I can understand if Ohio State and Bama finish unbeaten and Boise can't play in the Fiesta Bowl. But to say a one or even a two-loss AQ BCS school would get the nod over an undefeated Boise is unfair considering, the public has been indoctrinated with the "every game matters" mandate and "every week is a playoff" edict the last 10 years or so since this sham of a system was created. Every game mattering only applies to small schools. Not to teams in the big six conferences.

I have heard analysts say Bama, Texas, Ohio State etc can afford to lose early and still play for the championship at the end of the season. But if Boise State had lost to Va. Tech, they would have been playing scrimmage games the rest of the season.

Do you not know that before the season even starts 1/3 of all FBS schools don't have a shot at playing for the national title?

We tend to focus on Boise State and Utah and TCUs of the world. But no MAC, C-USA or Sun Belt school will play for the national championship either. This whole thing comes down to economics. If you can pay your way into one of the big boy conferences, then, only then will you have a shot at a national title.

Boise is moving to the Mountain West to give them a slightly increased chance of a legit title shot. But again, since they don't play in the SEC, Big 10, Big 12, PAC-10, ACC or Big East there still is no guarantee even with an undefeated season.

Exactly. It's all economics and politics.

Another dumb excuse is the whole VaTech loss to a FCS school. So what? Michigan loss to a FCS school in their home stadium and then went on to beat Florida in a BCS Bowl game. It's not about logicistics at all. Nobody wants to give Boise St the chance to beat them because it would legitimize Boise St and blow the whole BCS system wide open.

Bob Stoops at OU and Ricky N. at UCLA said it makes no sense for BCS schools to go out and play a tough non-conference schedule if winning the national championship is the goal for that season.

That is the real reason some of these powers don't want to agree with a home and home with Boise on their Smurf turf. Why would Bama, Ohio State, Miami, Florida or Texas purposely schedule a non-conference Top 5 team to start the season? SEC teams rarely leave the south. You think they going to Idaho to play and risk an L?

That is why I had so much respect for USC during the Pete Carroll era. They played Ohio State, Va. Tech, Notre Dame, and Arkansas on the road early in the season. The first game of the 2003 season USC played AT No. 6 Auburn.

So this issue is not cut and dry.

Actually, Michigan beat Florida in 2007 which was the Capital One Bowl 41-35. They played inspired ball because it was Llyod Carr's last game. That 2007 team was Urban Meyer's worst team of his career because they didn't have any depth on the offensive and defensive line, and it was a young, inexperienced team. Look at what happened the next 2 years when those Fr. and So. grew (26-2, 1 BCS National Title, 1 Sugar Bowl Title).

Mark my words, Florida will never play an OOC regular season game outside of the state of Florida. With Florida State, Miami(FL), and South Florida, UCF, FIU, and FAU, they have plenty of teams to choose from. The only way is if Jerry Jones or Atlanta lure them to play a Classic game against a big-named opponent.
