Do you realize how silly that sounds Blue. How many times has Rod Thorn (Bulls GM) at the time has said once the Big Men came off the board.......folks started calling the Bulls to make a trade for him...but the Bulls decided not too. Actually it was the Bulls who hemmed and hawed about taking MJ. They had been burned previously by drafting a 2 guard. They were hoping Jordan got picked higher and one of the big men fell to number 3. It was a center league back then. Thank goodness for the Bulls that Portland took Bowie and his injury prone arse. LOL. You can't believe no NBA team tried to trade up to get the consensus 2 time College Player of the Year. You got to be kidding me.
After Kobe said he wanted to play for the Lakers and didn't really want Charlotte to draft him........who else but the Lakers would trade up for him. Hell and they didn't have to give up alot either.
1996 NBA Draft
Bryant was chosen as the 13th overall
draft pick by the
Charlotte Hornets in 1996. However, according to
Arn Tellem, Bryant's agent at the time, Bryant playing for the Charlotte Hornets was "an impossibility".

Larry Drew and
Michael Cooper, and according to then-Laker manager
Jerry West "marched over these people".

I know you understand if you trade up to the top 3 picks in the draft then you have give up most of your team. So I am sure not many of the playoff caliber teams wanted to do that in the 84 draft. You rarely see that happen in any of the drafts.
